Last tune I only had the SW headers. Added their SW Redline exhaust modified.

yeah send sniv your file he can adjust your MAF sensor , trucks probably flowing more air.

did you like the exhaust ? I might switch to it.

Any chance that the new exhaust has a leak - before or close to the O2's? At the collector or wideband O2 bung, maybe? Extra air in the exhaust causing the lean AFR, ECU adds more fuel, then can't reconcile airflow with fuel flow so thinks the MAF is the problem...?

Thanks I can check for this. Found an exhaust leak post O2s last time around. Will check the other points as well. Could be the emissions folks were checking sensors during their inspection and didn't reinstall them properly.

That's a very good point! I'm also retarded, rich codes make sense if it's reading lean. It's just a sign that it's extremely lean and even though the truck is trying to pump as much fuel as possible that it's so lean (at the sensor) that the AFR is still running away. @Saltyhero13 maybe I missed it, what exactly happened with the exhaust?

Yes may have to work with @snivilous remotely when I get sorted with a proper terminal. Want to swap my FPR but may have to deal with this first.

So technically I ordered the Legend Series but SW shipped the Redline mufflers instead. With headers it was loud AF, droned in the cab a bit cruising. Shortened the X Pipe and replaced one of the segments with their smooth tube muffler (basically a glass pack/resonator). Sounds like a cammed muscle car now and fairly quiet in the cab while cruising. Sounds like demons escaping the maw of hell at WOT.

I was trying to find an exhaust leak on my sons car. Saw a hack of using the exhaust port of a shop vacuum on the exhaust end. Used soapy water to see if any leaks. Of course will have to block off one exhaust port if duals. Worked for me without having the heat...

I'll have to recheck for a leak.

Prior to replacing the OEM exhaust I detected a leak post O2 on the passenger side. Not big but leaking enough to see with a smoke tester. That was post header install and retune. My concern with the previous leak is Nat Speed uses a tailpipe sniffer for tuning so AFRs could be thrown off even with a small leak.

Pretty sure I sealed that leak but I also recently had an emissions inspection for registration. I don't know if they fucked with any sensors. Can't run emulators or defoulers.

Since the headers I've had that weird idle issue where AFRs ping pong back and forth +/- 2 points. Only happens in park and doesn't happen all the time.

I'm also considering the issue could be with Harrop MAF breakout harness since I was seeing unusually low IATs post exhaust.

Yes bought a unit that does smoke and pressure. Worked well to find the first leak. Also have a little mini handheld.

Vid of what the exhaust sound? Might be able to capture the tone but video formats compress the audio so it may not capture what it sounds like in person. I can post when this shit gets sorted.

The other symptom I forgot to mention is it dies on initial start up but runs very roughly on the second start up.

Edit: Reaching out to Harrop. I suspect the sensor or harness is bad. If I am not mistaken temp sensor is used on start up.

Sounds like ke you could be pretty rich at startup. IAT's do play a role for MAF correction. The ECT's also play a role at startup and what the ECU looks at to add air or not. The Denso 750's I have can be rich at startup so I have it set to add a little bit more air. Been trouble free since the change.

You could try just eliminating the Harrop harness and plugging the MAF into the original OEM truck harness as it originally was to check that possibility. Should be pretty simple to do.

Whatever this forum told me to do
Due to my substantial lack of knowledge & ability to break said harness, I will refrain from any Harrop harness discussion.

Was hopeful but "No Joy"(not resolved). Bypassed it and AFR initially ran worse in the 20s and jumped up to the 17-19s. Misfire 3 and 7. No MAF code however.

Visually checked and tested the seating of all the O2 sensors. They are all fairly far forward. No detectable soot residue around the bungs. They look fine but pulling the thread on this suggestion.....

If I was running rich before is it feasible all the sensors are fouled hence why the ECU thinks the MAF is bad and not any O2s?

They all read the same AFRs, both wide and narrow(narrow is pegged lean at around ~18 but fluctuates richer when the wide band dips below 18), Not registering rich banks now. Noticeable soot at tail pipe too.

What are the fuel trims at? I would start there. Are the trims full rich everywhere or just at one spot?

As @snivilous stated what are the fuel trims at? When my ltft were out of wack I had misfires and p0101 code constantly. Air leak?

No wonder you got the MAF code and misfires. Anything on intake side indicating an air leak?
For both banks it has to be something on the intake side?

Running rich! Maybe MAF related or the tune went wonky? It's as if you have a leak after the MAF but before the cylinders.

Do you have a way to datalog? The fuel trims vary with airflow. If you have way negative trims just at one spot out of a dozen, then that might mean something different than if the whole range of fuel trims are all negative. It only needs one datapoint to throw a code, but one datapoint being off is a lot different than the entire rpm range. If you can datalog then we can see all the fuel trims and how they vary with airflow instead of just one datapoint.

You'll be able to data log without credits. Just load the scanner and run a data log. I can or @snivilous send a set of channels to monitor.

Checking for leaks with soapy water couldn't find anything but doesn't mean it isn't leaking on the inside runners/underside of the blower.
