It’s a good thing I have a magnuson belt sticker for my Harrop blower. :blahblah:

I'm jealous. They don't have anything like that for the 2650

There seems to be about one Toyota dealer in each state that does supercharger installs and offroad type upgrades. For Washington state it’s Toyota of Bellevue. These dealers usually maintain your warranty as long as they did all the work/maintenance. In my case the Bellevue dealer definitely takes care of my stuff and stood by the Toyota warranties/extended warranty even though the truck doesn’t look or sound like anything they sold new haha. I would imagine there’s a dealer like that in Texas.

Now that’s a good path forward. Wonder if any dealer in Houston or Texas does that. No idea how to even start the search

In relation to voiding the factory warranty by professionally installing the SC kit, did anyone hear about this? --> Magnuson-Moss warranty act of 1975 makes warranty providers, repair shops—to prove aftermarket parts caused warranty issue

It takes a lawyer to read it, a lawyer to fight it, and a lawyer to prove it, IMO. So if you have a lawyer on retainer and time to wait your chance in court, I suppose it's good ammunition. Else, I'd consider it cannon fodder.

Yuck. I drain several ounces out of my catch can every couple thousand miles. I'm always surprised how much is in there..

After getting the truck all back together, I had a few minor oil leaks with my fittings, so I tightened everything down and now I have a strange ticking noise when I start up. It wasn't doing this yesterday when I started and checked for leaks, but only this morning. I can't see anything hitting, all fasteners were torqued and loctite used on anything that required. The fan is not making contact with anything, the sound seems to be coming from the SC snout...bad coupler maybe? All pulleys are running straight, no wobbles, belt is good as well.

That is strange...does it oscillate when you get higher int he RPMs?

Yes, it would increase with RPM...I just tried it again and let it idle a bit longer and the noise went away after a minute or so...it sounds like it's coming from the snout, need to find my stethoscope.

To me that kind of sounds like the belt is skipping a rib on one pulley or something. I’ve never heard a coupler or bearings sound like that. Weird, hopefully you get it figured out!

It did to me as well, but the pulleys and belt are straight, no wobbles. I reached out to Harrop and shared the video with them, hoping it's just the coupler. Strange that it didn't happen at all yesterday when I was idling the truck up to temp checking for oil leaks.

I didn't see anything, I took the shroud back off to check if the fan was hitting it, and went over every inch of the belt route. I'm certain the noise is coming from the top, and sounds like inside the supercharger. Maybe the coupler was on it's way out and the tensioner I got from @ViktorG and shorter belt helped it along to an early grave?

My troubleshooting abilities are shit without coffee...it does appear to be an issue with belt alignment. I noticed the belt was not aligned on the alt pulley and almost slipping off the tensioner pulley, so I adjusted it and after running it, it's misaligned on the crank, alt and tens pulleys and there is a noticeable line on the green side of the belt. I'm going to switch back to the stock tensioner and see what happens.

Alignment is crazy hard when there were changes, I had to swap a slew of PS pump/alternator pulleys on the BMW.

    Hope it works out well.

I got the tensioner swapped out and put the belt back on...I made it even harder on myself with the oil pressure sensor I added. Now the breaker bar to crank on the tensioner has to squeeze between the sensor and the fan shroud. I also had to re-do the sealant on the stock oil sensor as that connection was still weeping. After the sealant sets for a few hours, I'll see what it sounds like.

It's dropped. the original master key, that worked after the computer swap is not starting the truck, had to go back in the BMW with keys, the valet works. WTF? Also, after starting with the valet key, the old master started it but it died in a few seconds.

I'll have to reprogram it when I get the truck back.
