I ran the hot wire kit from battery to the canister plug. Spliced it to the pos/neg pump wires. I capped and heat-shrinked the fuel pump pos/neg wires from the fuel pump module.
I was told there would be no voltage drop doing it this way. I've seen a bus bar stud bulkhead connection installed on top of canister to keep the same gage wire.
It's on with ignition so you can also install an inertia switch.

I was lurking on a few posts about coolant bypass for TB and transmission. @Saltyhero13 @Silver17 then led me to Prospeed offering the valve body kit like IPT.
I plan on doing it with the Transgo kits myself in the future. Watched John at IPT do the valve body. Not too bad of a job.
What interest me was ProSpeed also using the Transgo kit. Just found it interesting...transgo instructions on the table.

PROSPEED said they were releasing some Tundra transmission related items "Soon" TM but I haven't seen anything. Curious to see what the labor cost will be on the IPTs since we know what the Transgo kits generally go for.

No clue about best, but I direct wired to the battery, ran the wire to the pump and used the pump power to energize the solenoid & got a spade kit from the basket to the pump.

No issues with power since I did it

If I didn't have to prime the system to not cause extended starts this is the way. Thanks for mentioning the fuel pump module power wire used instead of ignition source!

Edit: aftermarket fpr causing system to not maintain pressure after shutdown.

Whatever this forum told me to do

really really...what do these shift kits do if they don't fundamentally strengthen the internals?

do they increase the shift pressure? on the same friction plates that fail if you overload the damn thing?

I'm asking this from a position of ignorance.

Spitballing that you become the Mach 5!!!! (maybe go mach 5)???

And if that were so what would 3836.35 translate to in a 0-60 & 1/4 mile????

    lol

From my understanding yes with the transmission as the same failure point. I haven't experienced the shift problems others have but I'm not pushing high power #s that others are on their builds.

The valve body kits or IPT ones replace accumulators and upgrades valves and plugs that fail causing leakage which leads to clutch slippage. It firms up pressure so you have almost direct engagement with no overlap. This helps eliminate clutch pack slippage reducing burnt packs. When shifting one gear is overlapping another giving you that smooth transition, as I was told. You'll hear people say after a shift kit you get whiplash shifts.
The kits also upgrade parts that wear preventing torque converter and clutch pack issues.

    I toasted one transmission...also.
Current one has been going strong since 2013. I have the 1970's shift kit as John from IPT calls it. I have metal accumulators in C3,B3 and C2 with limiting rods in each. It prevents shift overlap in 2-3-4 and has direct clutch engagement. A few of us put them in back on tundratalk. John says it doesn't hurt and a built valve body would be more beneficial.

It was listed for $9k, and I had already been looking at toter homes and then found out you don't need anything special to buy a semi and register it as a a motorhome :D has sleeping quarters, tons of storage, and will haul everything I own at 80mph while getting the same or better mpg as the tundra  it is absolutely awesome, and now the tundra can live a life of relaxation and this thing doesn't even know it's loaded with the buggy on it. For the price it was too cheap to not experiment with!
