Yes ok, so I went to best buy and bought the adapter so I could plug my laptop into the gauge. upload_2022-2-20_19-20-50.jpg

The Boost cut pressure was at 8 which makes sense because when I specifically paid attention today I saw the "B cut" pop up when my boost PSI hit 8 or above. So it appears it's 8 PSI by default. BUT My gauge still said the peak PSI was 10.7. I did really notice it suck the power out of the truck when WOT that time. But the manual say's "the relay will interrupt all solenoid control and boost will default to spring pressure."

Yes sir. I got the boost/AFR when I installed the blower a few years ago, never had a single issue and I suggest it to everyone. As far as I know it's the only gauge that does dual duty of showing AFR and boost pressure, which is why I got it. You can see peak boost, and a combination or single display of boost and AFR and it has little buttons to quickly switch between the displays. Its backlit and plenty bright during the day and you can tie it into your running lights so it dims. It's not cheap, but it seems to be really good quality and doesn't look like some janky aftermarket gauge. The only thing that could be "better" is since it's digital it's measuring everything at intervals, so reading boost for instance it could be jumping from 4.5-5.5psi in decimal increments hopping around depending on what the instantaneous reading is (same with afr), where as an analog boost gauge would be locked in at 5psi since it's more of averaging the data and has inertia so can't be instantly hopping around. Nothing wrong with it, just how the data is being read, but worth noting (I bought an analog gauge just to verify the Innov8 since the boost numbers jumping around slightly concerned me the first time).

He convinced me to get the same gauge. I've had zero issues with and am very happy with it.

I struggled just a bit with getting the wideband sensor wire through the firewall grommet due to all the other things I have stuffed through there. :(:D

No none of that applies to us, plus you'd need the gauge hooked into some auxillary system to have anything happen. I'm not sure what the end of dudes post was referring to.

I didn’t know what that meant. I was just quoting what it said in the manual. So it really has no affect then? It’s basically just indicating it’s past 8PSI essentially?

I appreciate everyone's comments regarding through this thread. I going to make the jump to stage 2 and looking for suggestions on who's tune to use. Current setup is a 2021, harrop, 4.88 gears, on 35's. Thanks

Whatever this forum told me to do
    I'm stock suspension/tires.
    80mm griptec
    DW650cc's injectors

I used D3 Performance (they are local to me). They did ~18 runs to tune mine. I don't know if that is good or bad. but, my truck runs great. Dennis & Dinesh are great guys & only tune Toyotas. they are always available by email/text.

I have not participated in remote tuning, so I can't speak to it. @ViktorG is the point man on that.

this is like ugly baby syndrome/buyers remorse (myself included) - as most folks will cheer what they have, as few have run multiple brand tunes.

I'm hitting the 5 volt limit of our MAF. and chose not to go higher. which I believe to mean - I stopped at a fairly unsophisticated tune.

I love it. my major decision point....nothing has broken yet.

my truck still gets 18mpg cruising on the highway & boogies when I hit the go pedal.

In short - IF YOU CAN - get a tune done on a dyno.

Orange Virus and D3 are the only tunes available last I checked. It will come down to finding a shop that is comfortable with the specific software.

From @nobodyintexas 's description D3 is newer and can get it done, they also seem to be very customer oriented. OV's vF Tuner has been around longer but has been banned from these forums.

I think D3 is the only one right now with a stage 2 tune, I have D3 on my truck with magnuson, he was able to get it work on 2021s before it was available, and has been great so far on working with me to make minor changes (speed limiter removed), give them a shout.

OV covers up to '21s as well. Maggie started using them as a tune of choice for a while. It was listed on their website at one point but I am happy to hear they moved to use D3's tuner if that is the case.

The shop I use pivoted from HP tuner to OV tuner since HP hasn't been able to crack the 19's and above. I've been nudging them to use D3, so far they haven't budged.

I think Magnuson still uses VFtuner for 2020+, I was waiting for VFtuner for a long time with 2020+ since I have headers and gears (on 2020+ once you do gears, you get top speed limiter kick in at 91mph), but then when I got into touch with D3, Dinesh was able to get 2020+ to work back in August of 2021 and I was one of the earlier ones to get one of their hand held tuner, I was happy with the tune and I told him I was gonna go s/c sooner or later and at that time Magnuson didn't have 2020+ yet, so he worked with me and developed a tuned for it, I bit the bullet and bought a kit and got it to work.

I think if I was ever to go all out, I'll probably go the Prospeed Haltech route.

Thanks. Holy that is not cheap and "This kit still uses the factory ecu to control the throttle body and transmission, HPTuners is required for tuning the trans on the 2007-2018 models, 2019-2020 VFTuner is required."

I'll need to look at this more but it has a lot of interesting features:
    - Allows full control of the engine, with a factory ecu you are relying on company’s to define all the tables in the ecu, but the reality is this is rarely the case. Often times there will always be something doing weird things in the background affecting the end tune due to missed tables, this can cause weird running issues or engine damage if someone is not familiar with the platform. The Motec ecu will 100% do exactly what you tell it to, there are no hidden or missed tables.
    - It opens up the pool of tuners who can dyno tune the vehicle, the amount of tuners who can know the in’s and out’s of the factory Tundra ecu and know the issues and work arounds is small, but by utilizing a Motec you know longer need someone who knows all these issues and fixes.
    - Our Motec package has factory CAN system integration, allowing driven and non-driven wheel speeds from the ABS module for traction control and shift detection for pulling power at the shifts for prolonged transmission life, etc.
    - Has full time O2 correction with reliable Bosch NTK wideband sensors
    - Utilizes a 150psi fuel pressure sensor for true VE based tuning, using this, if the fuel pressure rises or falls it will maintain a constant air fuel ratio, it will also do an RPM cut if the fuel pressure drops too low to prevent engine damage in the event of a faulty fuel pump.
    - Uses a 5 bar MAP sensor for speed density control
    - This works in conjunction with the factory ecu making sure everything still works in the vehicle such as factory dash.
    - Has better VVT control than the factory ecu, the cams will track faster.
    - Has boost control for turbo applications

@Downytide So if I understand that device correctly its a type of middleware that lets you connect sensor that normally wouldn't be integrated into a host vehicle in addition to carrying the tune. If so its worth the steep cost. That is some cool kit right there.

    Thanks for sharing this.

My knowledge on this is little, but my understanding is the engine would be control by the motec ecu, injectors, pump, etc, while stock pcm and other modules *think they still do, almost like a virtual machine on PC, I may well be very wrong, but that's my understanding.

Stage 1 is Harrop with no tune and the larger pulley and stock injectors.
Post what you got. It doesn't matter as most of the people on this thread upgraded their S/C to the Stage 2. People are posting their Maggies here too.

Got the Harrop, obviously, 80mm pulley. Full ProSpeed fuel system including billet fuel rails, ProSpeed Intake and will be fully tuned with HP Tuners
