@Saltyhero13 I'm assuming you were throwing P0101s and maybe 0102/0113 codes? I also had the P0420 for catalyst efficiency below threshold code...... Basically all codes you get when you pull the MAF.

If it persists you could try adding honeycomb air straightener screen before the MAF. I’ve never gotten a P0101 again after doing that with the SABM, AFE and magnuson airbox.

I had a P0101 from an oiled filter I presume. Cleaned the MAF but only fixed the issue temporarily. When I replaced the MAF I was having surging idle so I did the throttle relearn. That fixed the issue.

Surging idle was the most annoying issue imo. Atm surge is completely gone thank God.

I like the idea of it, sounds like a good solution. My biggest gripe is I would want to buy 2 and carry a spare since you can’t just throw in a random one from an auto parts store in a pinch and have it be compatible with the tune.

    Many on the way.
Questions, are we running these super rich to keep the pistons and tight ring gap from overheating and thus wreaking havoc? With proper pistons, ring gap, and big fat oil to air oil cooler to supply the piston cooling jets with cool oil, can we lean things out a smidge?

That's how it's explained to me. Weak-ish ring lands along with tight ring gaps are theorized to cause mechanical failure when hot. Richening past the normal 12:1 is strictly for cooling.

Back in 2008 Lextreme did a tear down of the 3ur exposing its shortcomings when supercharged. Then when were experiencing failures it was found the short piston skirt and tight ring lands had little room for expansion. Matt Smith came on scene talking about the cooling system. Thanks @Silver17 for info on Matt as I'm not on FB.
If your going to tear down might as well go with a true forged built engine.
@ViktorG and myself had catastrophic failures.

@Fastlane47 new engine is built by XAT and has corrected pistons and ring gap, he's making 15+ psi and right now we're targeting in the ~12:1 range for most of the rpm band. None of that I would attempt on a stock setup based on what @Mdl said.

Thanks for the interest in the MAF sensor we developed for our Turbo Kit. Keep in mind, ours is scaled to read a higher flow for the same 0-5v range, it does require rescaling of your MAF table. Included is a MAF scale sheet, with voltages plotted along with the corresponding flow, with flowing done on a 3.5" ID sample size. You will have to adjust up or down (probably not down) from there based on your MAF tube size using simple math and then monitor fueling to dial it in 100%. Thanks again for the support!

I haven't had any MAF issues since going to the 95mm TB and 4.5 inch intake. @reywcms are you going 5 inch intake with the 103mm TB? Going to use the turbokits MAF? Will be standing by...
