I looked at it a while back and maybe would have saved the engine. Should have kept the midset of pay now instead of later.
Are you only going to have it spray for mid to max air psi? What psi is your pops running at?

Agreed, was just a good read and left me wanting more.

If I go supercharger (still considering), it will be on the very conservative side. I'd most likely just run the off the shelf setup from Mag and maybe a custom tune just to optimize for my specific truck and conditions. Honestly, even on only slightly oversized tires, I'm just wanting a little more low to midrange punch in this truck and I feel like that is the sweet spot of a supercharger.

That is what I did, I'm still on the big pulley. I don't race my truck. Hauling gear and merging with traffic is about it. Low and Mid range punch is great on these trucks.

With that said I think you are very unlikely to find several examples of supercharged(from zero miles) trucks over 400K miles let alone NA trucks with that many miles. Minus the cracked piston land the rest of the engine looked healthy for having most of its miles blown.

Something to keep in mind is some of the older trucks were tuned at a time when they didn't understand what was causing engine failures. Tuning on these platforms have improved since the earlier days.

My brother has an AEM Methanol kit he took off his VW. Will get a bung tigged in when I get the mass air flow flange for my intake. Will pick it up next time I'm down in Portland. Maybe I'll have time for a beer at a meet up...

Got the headers and exhaust installed. Two people 9am-6pm, would be hard to do solo on some parts. Driver’s side header is not fun. The dump before axle made for a pretty loud experience haha. I put the full tailpipes on today to try out. Surprisingly good outcome of the idle/normal driving is close to a BAM 8” system while medium/high throttle is pretty hilarious stock car sound. Will post some sound clips and pictures soon!

If I put the aem injection kit on. I'll use a small nozzle and spray a light 70/30 mix to only cool. Should not change the afrs when in power enrichment. I don't really need it for knock or timing as most do.

This is alot of information. I have been trying to read it all but unfortunately i pulled the trigger on a supercharger before getting through the thread entirely.
I went with a magnuson 2650 but its not arrived yet. I am having to sort out where to locate the gauges. Can someone offer advice. I dont want them on the steering collar and due to the air bag the driver side A pillar is not an option. So any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Another question i have is, do you have have a pedal commander or something of the sort after the supercharger install ?
why and why not? Thanks in advance for the information.

If you have a single gauge such as the Innovate psb1 you can use this method.

I have the pedal commander and use it post supercharging, but you can effectively change the throttle sensitivity through custom tuning in which case the pedal commander isn't needed.

Thanks, I was really concerned about that cause I had already purchased it. Seems like I am going in reverse kinda. I have had to slow down and try to get all the information i can. This wont be a jacked and lifted truck. Just a stock 2019 trd pro for the most part with a few minor upgrades. Once my tires wear out i will get a bigger set but nothing that cant fit the stock rims and i think 285 65 r18 is what I concluded.

    I appreciate the help.

I think what you mean is the largest tire on a stock rim with out having to do a ton of modding to fit. Yes?

LOL, I agree but will a supercharger change this answer

To the OP, the general consensus is on your 18X8 OEM wheels, assuming you have TRD Pro, it is generally accepted that you can fit 295/70/18 on a Pro with no mods. If you are on a stock height "No TRD Pro" truck, I'm not sure what the number is, but it's probably smaller.
