Wow. The guy I sold my supercharger too must've been the last one able to get it. I'll text him and see if he secured that. Last I heard, he was referred over to Justin to do it, and was supposed to work with me during the process. Anyways, I bet it's because of me lmao. We spent like 2 weeks doing my custom tune and still wasn't done with it. They want to install/tune in very specific steps/order when you're going all in on the first go. Which is very understandable and probably the best way to do it. Because they wanted good baselines. But the time/profit ratio starts to fall off pretty quickly after a few hours..

 

Yea we did about 2.5 hrs of tuning on the old mans rig. Which im sure didn't help them lol but at the end of the day they need to change their info etc don't call yourselves custom tuners lol

 

I’m not surprised they want to specialize in the flash and go cookie cutter one size fits all tunes. That’s where they make the best money I’m sure.

 

I wonder if that's why one of the affiliates wouldn't return my calls. Ah well, @snivilous generously helped me with my issue.

Luckily nothing important! Also @ViktorG was very gracious and reached out and is sending me his stock Harrop pulley for me to pull measurements off of for the 77.5mm version!

In Colorado for work this week, maybe back next week, in Texas the following week. Then @reywcms calls me about tuning. When it rains it pours

 

Based on my limited interaction with them they basically prefer to work with a mostly stock baseline and tune one variable at a time.

You are SOL if you already have a tuned truck with larger intake, and/or injectors and/or headers; they'll ask you to revert to stock so they can tune each item at a time.

Fair enough and I understand why they operate that way.

They won't work with Whipples and they wont work with anything gold....sorry @reywcms ....ok I made this last part up.

What’s the difference if tuning a Whipple vs a Maggie or Harrop?

 

I'm just bullshitting and ribbing Rey. They worked on his dad's truck and successfully tuned it.

 

Gotcha. I inquired with them for tuning also but was turned off by their rules. I get it as a business standpoint but didn’t work with my truck as a daily driver and I can’t afford downtime.

I was pretty disappointed too. Disappointment led to depression. Depression led to LTH and other upgrades. LTH led to a new tune.

 

Stock components in my case as I understood it. It is possible they have a canned tune they start with but I didn't get that far.

They wanted to scale my injectors first before scaling my intake and taking on other parts of the tune. He requested I revert back to my stock intake to do any tuning. Not possible since I didn't keep any of the stock parts. The rationale given was basically more difficult to calibrate two variables at the same time, not a direct quote.

For clarity I just wanted to get my tune cleaned up after dicking around with my intake.

 

The gold was for sure the problem lol i think the business models changed in the last month or so. I would’ve highly recommended them before but for this issue today I will not be moving forward. Which is fine. But what I would expect is the truth.

I’ve been in the industry far too long (owned a shop had a tuner who still tunes for Dynojet) etc to believe the bs. Reverting back to stock items to make a tune is bs. We know that and the previous tunes prove that (pops rig). Be up front and say we don’t want to do custom full tunes and people will move on. It’s fine. It seems that you can always find something that is an Excellent product then life or a new business plan makes it turn to crap...or the government...people have been hot rodding forever hope it doesn't change. I'm shure someone has changed a Prius to make it go farther and faster but that's OK cause it's New technology.

 

I am very surprised. I just got a tune revision from Justin at OTT a little over a week ago no issue. The emissions crap sucks. I was pumped i got my monitors too set last week. I took it straight in and passed.
