Could one just enlarge the brass fitting's hole a bit more as a monitor improvements? I like this idea of losing it!

I wasn't monitoring AFR or IAT on the Tacoma so no idea if that changed. I didn't see any surging on mine, but not to say it doesn't happen. The increased throttle response was noticable. Would definitely love to see some before/after logs. Haven't seen anyone do that on the Tacoma side

If the new ECU calibration ID is the same as the old ECU calibration ID, you would just need to write your VIN into the ECU with Techstream and HPTuners wouldn’t know the difference. If the calibration ID is different, you will have to buy credits.

Also, if the calibration ID is different, it may be possible to first update it with Techstream to the one that was in the old ECU. Techstream will allow calibration up, to a numerically higher or newer calibration, but not down to an older one.

Ewkay, I wandered around without the jet in. It seems slightly more responsive, but I'm not sure I'm going to be comfortable with that when the roads become icy in the winter, and our roads are pretty jostling; we have more craters than the moon. Maybe by then I will have acclimated. I didn't really notice any change in maximum boost at WOT. I did see a reading on the boost/vacuum gauge on deceleration where it indicated over 25inHg. That's the highest that I've noticed, but I don't really monitor that. AFRs were a touch lower at WOT, 10-10.2 versus what I seem to recall seeing before, like 10.5-10.8. They seemed to be steadier and bounced around less. I'm going to leave it out for the time being and see if anything else of note crops up. Let's hear from the rest of you when you get the chance to experiment.

Just took a drive, 20 minutes back & forth on the freeway.
1)instant boost. Truck just takes off, immeadiately it's at 8.8 which seems to be as high as it is going now.
2)no noticeable fluctuation in cruise driving & the IAT seems the same.
3)AFR seemed slightly lower at WOT (10.0 from 10.5)

The first ambient/IAT is just on the freeway, second after about 10 minutes on the freeway.

Wonder if it turns the bypass into more of an on/off switch. I mean removing the bypass will make response even better too :D

You gotta go through a whole process to program it with Techstream. It is definitely not just plug and play.

I believe the correct name for the brass fitting is a snubber. I’ve seen them before in hydronic systems to prevent gauge damage from rapid pressure fluctuations.

Doing some upgrades right now and have the magnuson up on some small blocks. I'd like to pull it out of the engine bay though, how much coolant are in the intake/outlet for the intercooler on top of the unit? Do I need to drain some inter-cooler coolant out first before attempting or is that high spot relatively empty when off?

Side note the "softball trick" of using a heat gun + softball with the magnuson rubber intake works really well to fit over the RCF throttle body.

Just cap them off and then hold the hoses up in the air.

Should've installed a sniv Speed Shop modular pulley while in there.

So it sounds like drilling out that orifice to a specific size is the way to go for a good balance.

So update for people that try this, intercooler hoses come off pretty easy. The passenger side did have about a half cup of coolant come out immediately before I could cap off, I had paper towels ready though. The barbs are 3/4” for caps, I used a male to male for the hoses. Glad I took the supercharger out as I found some debris in a few intakes I had to clean up, also alot easier to get the nose back on when it’s sitting on a bench.

I have a 2014 black crewmax which I am about to purchase a supercharger but I have never seen one perform in person or even driven in one. I live in south Florida and checking to see if there is anyone in sunny south Florida with a supercharged Tundra I can look at, or possibly get a pull in. I would greatly appreciate it.

Strange. Is it a blow off valve or bypass? I didn't think anything was vented to air on these just circumvent the rotors.

"Magnuson supercharger bypass valves have been designed to relieve the pressure surge caused by changing gears or backing off the throttle quickly. These bypass valves can be plumbed back into the car's air intake, making them ideal for mass airflow (MAF) metered vehicles, where venting to the atmosphere can create a rich air/fuel ratio. If you need a top-quality racing bypass valve, these supercharger bypass valves by Magnuson will deliver!"

It'd be worth a call to Magnuson's tech dept. and find out what the actual function of that is and why they picked that size for the orifice.
