General Supercharger Thread

Well technically sig is correct as I haven't installed it yet lol. Installing mine this weekend. The pics I shared are on my old mans rig who also has a built LT whipple tundra.

Stage 1 Harrop was why the whole thread started to begin with.

Problem is, this one wasn't "firm" and quick, it was quick and being kick by a horse, when towing heavy, it's awesome, it feels like a ZF 8hp, but now it feels good both empty and when loaded.

 

Well we have two LT kits for sale lol just saying ... lol

 

problem is budget haha. i saved up to get the supercharger done. may be a year til i can get LT's haha

 

Mine are Doug Thorelys that are 500 plus shipping, they are new.

interesting placement of the intercooler reservoir.

Also this person/dealer is insane asking $45k for that truck...I guess dumping a gallon of armor-all over the engine up's the price $20k

And small truck update. Filed complaint with CO DOI. Got call back from State Farm, they are taking steps to address my complaints. Should get truck into shop as soon as 5 weeks from now instead of Sept. Either totals or gets fixed and traded/sold. Seeing more and more RCSB 4x4 5.7's for sale lately too.

 

No need really. It started out as a "Anyone with Stage 1 Harrop?" and the OP never returned. It wasn't until thousands of posts later did we see that yes Stage 1 can technically run on the stock maps but it knocked a lot so the truck was pulling timing.

 

i don't trust a clean engine bay when buying a used car. haha but that's just me. i always clean and detail my engine bay though.

They early maggy/TRD's had the intercooler placed there. Then it changed over to the current locations also the provisions on the blower were updated.

 

This was the most posted in supercharger thread, and since probably half of us don't have a Harrop but congregated here since everyone else did, it was decided to just rename the thread, sticky it, and then a bit later they gave me the OP so we could have a "home page" to document pertinent information instead of searching through all the pages.

The OG OP posted only twice I think, I don't know if the second post was even in this thread. And the OG first post was just "is anyone running the stage 1 Harrop and what are your thoughts".

@reywcms I skipped some posts so not sure if you answered this already, but where did you get that intake tube?

 

Thread has been relatively drama free IMO. Some fairly critical information and opinions given but useful information none the less. I think only one poster was banned from this thread considering it is over 9000K deep.

 

That intake tube is included in the whipple kit. But if anyone needs it I have it that I won't be using.

 

The tube is but it still uses the stock airbox correct? Or at least doesn't come with it's own airbox.

on a side note, is that the old TRD intake box? would that work with maggy? I'm a sucker for those old TRD intake box.

 

I think it will fit on the maggy box (havent tried) But yes stock airbox. I guess I could measure it. Please hold

Mine is old style TRD intake lid for the s/c, bought new from toyota ($175). Definitely fits, because I bought the lower half of the intake box from SCOL ($55). But I'm not breaking up any of the s/c kit yet.

 

Overall length- 8.5"
TB Side Inlet-3.5"
Intake Box Inlet- 4 3/4"

 

And another minor thing to note, injector duty cycle was at 100%!
