Found this dyno testing result of a TB coolant bypass on a WS6. Really looking forward to driving the truck more and seeing if the lower IATs remain consistent. If it’s truly 10-12 degrees cooler I think it’s worth leaving bypassed for the summer months. That was just a way larger drop than I was anticipating seeing as the air passes through there so fast, and it’s such a small surface area. Its 90 here today, maybe I can drive the truck some more after work and collect more data. http://www.ws6.com/mod-8.htm

Whelp guess I’m heading to get a barbed fitting lol.

Also discovered craven speed is basically down the street from me so I’ll head there and grab a mount lol

I had already bypassed the TB coolant, when I did the SC, I just removed the original hoses with the barb in the middle & ran a single hose, cleaner.

If you have a gauge that is on the bigger side, see if you can get longer bolts for the pods.

Technically you don’t even need that fitting if one of the hoses is long enough to just go right to the thermostat housing. I chose to do it with the barbed fitting so that everything was right there to put it back how it was quickly, and also it’s at a higher point so I figured I’d lose less coolant. It’s pretty negligible though I’d say.

Yeah there is some fitment issues with the newer AEM X series and the Cravenspeed pods. You'll need spacers and mod to the mount. Take a look at the CS reviews page for the product; highlights the complaints and potential fixes.

Yep, saw that. They based their initial designs off of another brand gauge. I'll get it updated for them and they can adjust it moving forward. They may use the rig for some dev of other items but we'll see.

Yeah that will be great. Most people just want out of the box fitment. The old pods just take some magic to make it work.

RE LTH Picked up some small gains, may not be all LTH gains. Sound is deeper and mellow. No drone or obnoxious sounds as I suspected but also on stock muffler. The sound emanates further back behind the driver position; stock header sound is is more forward between dash to below the driver.

Oh and the Frankenstillen fuckery didn't constrain the top end even though the ID of the new tube is slightly smaller than PS intake and I am using a dry AFE filter instead of the oiled K&N.

I did some more driving today with temps in the upper 80s. Even after driving 20 minutes and then idling it for 10 and letting it heat soak to 133, after I resumed driving I returned to roughly a 27 degree delta whenever I was lightly on the throttle. 86 ambient and 113 IAT for example. I’d call it an 8-12 degree improvement over prior to the mod. If you’re gonna do it maybe you can record your findings as well. I’d be curious if you have similar results. Also, with the trans cooler thermostat pinned open the max temp I saw today was 183, normally would have been 200+.

Drove mine this afternoon and can confirm Iat at idle in traffic cooler with longer time to heat soak. Coolant temp also down. I typically see 198-200 maybe 203 if crawling or running hard. Driving in town I saw 194-198. Once it hit 200 but then quickly back down in temp.

I don't have with the coolant going through, but heres my findings.

Sitting in a parking lot 93 ambient 10 minutes, ac on, 131 IAT.

Driving on the freeway, 10 minutes average 65mph. Ambient 93, intake 96.

I also have had my trans pinned since I got the truck huge difference in temps. But I also drive in s4 full time then s5 on the freeway.

Once I put headers on I never heard another whine again. Unless it was my girlfriend whining about the sound from my headers.

I don't know for how much longer until they start doing them in house. Mine handles the increased pressure so far so good, I'll keep giving updates later this year on it as well.

Is that something they're working on? When I did mine "through" ProSpeed they just had me ship it straight to IPT myself to save time on the middle-man and then I was just billed through ProSpeed.

From what I read he was selling this and one of his other cars for some business opportunity that popped up. The other was a Skyline or Viper or something.

I'm leaning towards yes after the conversation about it with them. Again they found stuff left on the table that they adjusted or upgraded that allowed the unit to handle more line pressure for the tuning with the hp I was at.

Yeah the business opportunity was the new Raptor R and a F250 6.7 lol... I know I shouldn't say those words around here. He literally just needed to make room for a new project, seeing that it took so long he lost interest in it pretty much before it was even completed. I'd love to have drove that thing.
