This is how I did my flex, then when the 450 failed I direct wired it using the oem as the relay trigger. No electrical problems, don't ask about the hoses :p

finally got the truck back! jesus christ these big beast can move! sorta taking it easy for now, not sure if theres a break in period with the Harrop. but imma wait until i finish this full tank of gas first before sending it.
slight hiccup, got codes for P0175 system too rich. popped after 30 miles of driving. cleared codes. drove 2 miles and hasnt come back yet. il do more driving tomorrow to see if it comes back.
    truck is tuned by D3

I was doing WOT logs with mine on the first day.. if there is a break-in period, oh well! A 5.3 Silverado wanted some at a light in Mexico today as I was on my way to get oil for my generator and the punishment was exciting considering I only get to drive my truck on the weekends. I'm running super rich (9's AFR) and have never seen that code... keep an eye on your cats each time you go WOT by looking at your exhaust tips lol

If that's the bank too rich code, then it seems to be triggered by the MAF being too far out of range. So it's not really based on how rich the truck is running, just how rich it's running compared to what it expects from the MAF. Not something to worry about too much, especially if it's a rich code, and if you cleared it and it hasn't come back then I wouldn't worry.

Some tuners adjust the MAF values and others don't. Some trucks seem to have a smaller range than others and throw that code easier. Some of the tunes I've seen the MAF is off by 30% which should trigger it and it's fine, other tunes it's off by 25% and triggers it. I wouldn't worry about it unless it becomes a common repeating issue.

oh i appreciate this response! i obviously still have a lot to learn haha so this gave me a bit of relief. it's pop the code again 2 more times driving about 20-25 miles each time it happened. but i will continue to monitor and keep you posted :) running rich is better than lean, the CEL is just annoying haha

I wouldn't rule them out yet, it usually takes a few tune revisions to get it dialed in. I've tuned (or helped) a few guys on the forum and it's not uncommon to get a lean or rich code, and is usually an easy and quick fix. Hell, right around the time you posted earlier @Fastlane47 sent me an email that a tune I sent a few days ago was throwing a lean code! And his datalog only had the MAF out of wack below 2000rpm.

To be fair though I don't know your circumstances and if it was tuned in person or remotely or how their datalogging works, but it's definitely a common issue and usually a quick and simple fix!

This was the last datalog you sent me on May 1st, and the MAF was quite a bit off so not surprised. The code usually seems to trigger around +-25, so you had a bit of room left but at 2.8V you were at 18% out of wack. Green indicates the long term fuel trim is leaned out (ie the truck is running richer and is compensating) so would make sense you had a rich code.

    upload_2023-5-28_13-32-7.jpg

Of course, take everything I say with a grain of salt, I am NOT a tuner and every tune and person does their stuff differently. Just showing the values you had for your long term fuel trims a month ago.

When I've been messing with mine, which seems to be all the time:rolleyes:, I've noticed that if I try to adjust using the "exact" percentage, it tends to over compensate, even on the same test drive loop. I usually go with half the percentage. I've wondered if it's at least in part due to the larger injectors. Have you noticed anything similar?

It's weird, I had not gotten that in over 500 miles, Xact sent a new tune after that datalog, I'll do a new datalog & we'll see where it is now.

Also, things are running pretty well.

1 degree between ambient & IAT & high coolant temp is 203.

Yes this is mine (3.60” ID) before I went with Maggie intake (3.86” ID) . Not to be confused with the TRD intake that comes with the supercharger kit.

I replaced the airbox upper and lower. The earlier year 2nd gen had the larger lower airbox that can be reused with the larger upper. And I did remove the air accelerator because I don’t think it can be used on the Maggie upper. I will be doing the SABM so I’ll have another 3” air inlet feeding it.

The Harrop coupler does stretch to fit the larger MAF housing but is quite difficult to get on there.

Accelerator fits the maggy box and works well with the SABM.

I haven't, I just change by the % and it seems to be on the money pretty consistently.
