No, not at all, I'm sure it's top-notch...I was just implying the build cost was probably the reason to get rid of it. I can totally understand losing interest on something that had so many hurdles to overcome along the way.

Whatever this forum told me to do
I would HAVE to keep it.

The awesome part is - It still functions perfectly as a truck & everyone needs a truck in the family. albeit a 900hp+ truck.

Same...I would take that to the track every weekend, and go to every drag and drive event I could make time for. I wonder how the highway RPMs are with the 4L80E...

If it's stock ratios then 4th is similar to our 5th.

^^^GM transmission, and forged rods and pistons the engine stayed with the cams and all that (stock). I was curios how long that build took?, being the first and making custom parts I can imagine it took a good while?

If you’re not one to care about the details and nuances I’d just get whatever is cheapest, which is probably the Whipple.

Depends on your HP goals. If you are staying at or under 500 WHP they all get you there safely.

If you plan on going higher the bigger the blower the better so Whipple > Harrop > Maggie. Viktor hit a wall on the Maggie at some point but I don't remember where offhand.

I've read a lot of negative critique for mid mount turbos. Only big issue I see here is no water fording with this thing. A dust sock wont keep the water out and you could crack the hot turbo housing.

Disappointing to hear that it can't hold 1000HP. I've heard of shops cracking open IPT built transmissions finding old part swapped into them. Valve body is the only product worth looking at from them at this point.

It probably could of hit 1000, either a different turbo and fueling. Not even the Valve body anymore. There was things that PS saw and improved on once they got mine back.. that's why their thinking my transmission is holding up right now because it now handles even more pressure than past VB jobs from IPT.

Does anyone know if the throttle body sends a feedback signal to the ECM to tell it it’s actual position? I experienced that weird full power cut again that makes the pedal go dead temporarily so I wanted to eliminate the throttle body harness extension as a possible cause. I checked the TPS on the Scangauge before disconnecting the harness and it would max out at 81 at WOT (I assume degrees) after checking it repeatedly. I removed the extension harness and now I see 82 repeatedly. This is also checking with the engine off and ignition ON. I thought the max set in HPtuners was 86.

I'm looking to supercharge my 19 just reading about harnesses going bad or acting up,fuel pump issues, maf limits, airbox flow ,duty cycles on injectors...ect. makes you take a step back and reevaluate the purchase. I tow so thought I'd use the extra power a supercharger makes to assist on mountain passes, planning an Alaska vacation in a few years.

Lots of supercharged tundras with no issues. Mine for one and my old mans as well. Both hard miles and he tows frequently. This was on Magnuson's. We've both made the switch to the whipple.

Most of the things you have read about are from people over tinkering and making things harder and more complex than they have to be. Also, good news is you can learn from the issues of the select few and all of those things you mentioned everyone else has already figured out for you.

That’s the problem with the internet, we aren’t built to digest everyone’s problems from across the world at the same time, but these forums and similar pages compile them into one little corner of the internet and it can be overwhelming. It doesn’t reflect reality though.

Eloquently said can you give what would be a complete solution ie..Harrop with injector and upgraded pump...Maggie complete kit..Wipple....kit. what and who could you recommend, it's a lot of money just trying to educate myself with people that have already done it.

Very happy with the maggy no complaints. Making the switch because of better efficiency, more displacement and ability to run more boost later. Can’t go wrong with any of the 3 kits.

I don't know about the Tundra, but on my 2JZ which had an electronically controlled throttle, there was a TPS connected to the butterfly valve and that was completely independent of the actuation motor. So the ECM commands a position and that's then confirmed by the TPS, instead of just being open loop and blindly expecting it to be somewhere.

It has been laid out before in the thread, here was a post I had made on the subject in the past. https://www.tundras.com/threads/general-supercharger-thread.85513/page-201#post-3102708

As far as which kit, I can’t say there is a particular one to avoid or anything. It just depends on your priorities. I’m no tundra/supercharger expert but I have been following the subject for a bit. To reply to @Lemuel1 as well, you have to decide what’s most important to you from the kit. The differences have been hashed out so many times throughout the thread so I don’t want to be a broken record clogging it up with the same info. If there are specific questions on the kits I’m sure everyone will gladly chime in that has them.

I only have first hand knowledge of the Harrop, but I can describe what I found attractive about the Harrop over the others.
Based on what I’ve seen I believe it to be the best performer if you’re looking for the highest numbers and power and torque nicely distributed throughout the rev range. It’s up for debate I suppose, but that was my conclusion. Some may disagree which is fine. I also liked the downward discharge and accessibility/cleanliness in the engine bay. It also has a IAT sensor post blower/intercooler unlike the others. Quick change pulley system is nice. I believe it also has the largest surface area for the heat exchanger. It’s just a really nice kit.

What I don’t like is it is the most expensive for what is included (no injectors and larger intake box come along in the kit). As noted, there are a couple bad wiring harnesses out there for the Harrop as well. The TB extension you can just plain not use, the other one for the MAF/IAT if there was a issue Harrop will get you a new one.

I think the best way to answer this question is those with first hand knowledge sharing what they like and don’t like about their kit. It should probably even be included on the first post or something.

Well wrote thank you, I just want more ponies generically that will equate to longevity and reliability still. I’m not trying to upgrade parts or blast crazy HP.

i have the TRd with the toyota tune (which from my reading here is terrible) but the thing runs just fine IMO. I haven’t done anything or added anything other than fuel. Truck has 135k km and supercharged the whole time.
    Knock on wood.

Whatever this forum told me to do
Don't fret about the Harrop harness. It happened to me. It was an initial run of harnesses. My replacement harness has been flawless, as has my entire S/C experience. Harrop was super awesome about sending out a new one.

I'll put it this way....you hardly use the S/C in normal use. Really. This damn forum convinced me to get boost/AFR gauges and wow..i was surprised at how rarely the S/C is active/in-boost. (please withhold comments about my driving style, I'm sensitive)

But, it is damn fun when you decide to push the skinny pedal.

    normal driving...MPG unaffected.
    non-adult driving...not so much.
