I'll delve into the "turning off the nannies" soon.

that ought to be a hoot.

I assume you have an external AFR gauge. I monitor AFR constantly, especially anything higher than cruise. It's just another gauge to constantly glance at like everything else. Idle and WOT seems pretty straightforward, the middle section is where I get nervous and watch it more (how I found lean outs before). I had Viktor set up my tune so the instant I start building any boost it starts richening out so I watch that to make sure it's adding fuel when I expect. I also have TorquePro on my phone, and besides monitoring the obvious like the trans and coolant, I have AFR again (just to cross reference my external gauge), intake temp, and timing. Intake temp is at the MAF, timing I have an idea of where things should be after watching the truck for so long so glance at that to make sure it's not getting pulled for some weird reason. For 99% of things, as long as AFR is happy I'm happy, if I'm pushing anything then I start watching ATF and coolant but that's about it really.

There's been a few automatic nanny shut off kits that people have made. I don't know if they work on the 2020, but I'd look into them. Start the truck, by the time oil pressure is up all the traction control has been fully disabled. Pretty nice.

    Thanks Snivilous

AFR gauge...I am using the scanguage. it is not instant & runs thru the OBD system. it is not reading the same as before the tune. looking into that now.

I will ask D3 about installing an external one. Will this need a new bung on the exhaust?

one of my graph requests is HP+TQ+AFR for Stage 2.

and I assure you, I do not need Nannies automatically shutting off!! I know me.

One can get a smaller pulley for the mag.

and still sleep inside with the rest of the family

Unless you're building the bottom end, the mag will keep up with the Harrop so I wouldn't worry. Victor was pushing like 15psi through it before he determined he needed to swap to the Harrop and he fully built his engine to reach the magnusons limit to begin with. Not to say the Harrop isn't "better", but until 600-700whp they're comparable.

Yeah I definitely have no plans on building and don't want to replace my engine any time soon!
It received the used blower later in life at 183k and I'm plenty happy with the performance and power (and speeding warning from troopers) that I have with my Maggie right now...
But the ol' Maggie will need a tune up at some point, so instead of refurbishing my blower I'll hopefully be able to upgrade to a harrop.

Is the D3 tuner able to revert back to original ecu if Needed? Do you feel that it’s worth cleaning up the tune for stage one? Or not worth the overall cost?

    And yes. You can revert

I wonder if you went to stage 2 (pulley, fuel rail, air box) but reverted back to stage 1 to pass California smog, would that damage anything during that testing period?

I would guess most likely yes you would damage something based purely based on the Harrop tech paper. Not sure if you swapped back to the bigger pulley though, probably run rich.

@Platinum714 I would like to hear others thoughts on your question. I'm not a motor head so this is new to me.

I'm thinking big pulley allows the stock components to operate on the stock fuel map (by pulling timing). This is Stage 1.

Upgrade to smaller pulley is pulling in more air which requires ECU remap for fuel table and bigger injectors for more fuel flow. This is Stage 2.

Delete the tune and revert back to stock ECU you are off the fuel map with the smaller pulley but now the ECU is in danger of running lean since it doesn't know it can increase fuel flow (or can it?). Going back to the bigger pulley puts you back to Stage 1 but with bigger injectors. I think there is another feedback loop besides MAF that allows the ECU to adjust AFR.

Curious to hear how others think this through.

My thought is it probably wouldn’t hurt to just about idle it down the street into their parking lot for inspection. But in my state they take it for a test drive, so I’d think that could be a problem. I wouldn’t dare drive it any kind of distance, significant amount of time, or give it any more than the bare minimum amount of throttle without the tune flashed though. Maybe my thoughts would be considered being overly cautious? Can’t say with certainty, maybe someone else can.

To add to this I don’t think the additional airflow from the smaller pulley is as much a concern when driven easy because the supercharger doesn’t start making boost until you get deeper into the throttle due to the bypass valve. I think the additional fuel from the 650cc injectors would be more likely make it run rich under this scenario.
