I might be wrong about this but it is my understanding that fuel pressure will stay constant relative to boost with a boost referenced pressure regulator. An un-referenced pressure regulator will actually reduce fuel pressure as boost increases and that contributes to lean fueling. The higher the boost pressure, the more the relative fuel pressure decreases.

Your setup with a boost referenced FPR would allow your injectors to follow the same in or out of boost.

Technically this is true due to the boost pressure in the cylinders resisting the fuel flow out of the injectors. If the injectors weren’t subject to boost pressure the flow would increase. But since they are, the pressure stays equal, whereas without a boost reference the fuel pressure would drop as boost increases.

I think the frame is fine, mine was. The rear track was off by about 2 inches because the wheel, rotor, caliper, axle, u-bolts, and both leaf springs were tweaked a bit. Seriously though, the frame was fine.IMG_2864.jpg

Well, is your goal to set it the same as it was originally tuned at? If so then you want to match the stock FFV regulator pressure which should be about 60psi. Also hook it up the same as far as if it was boost referenced or not.

Boost reference aside, injectors will still flow more at a higher pressure than a lower pressure.

My goal is to not lose pressure at 5100 rpm :D
My prayer is it's the FPR, I have no clue.

Xact said it doesn't matter, he just needs to know where it is so he can set the injector size.

Damn adaptor left Dallas at 8pm last night by air, still has not been scanned again, obviously not coming today :( I have been trying to find one locally, no go, SAD

Amazon will have it here tomorrow, I guess I just have to wait. Don't understand why none of the parts places have them (Autozone, Napa, Oreilly) etc.

Is boost referenced having the vacuum port? (I looked it up and that seemed to be the thing, if so the one I have has it.

Yes, that's what I assumed also. If you can find a model #, maybe you can dig up some specs on it, but it's most likely a 1:1 rising adjustable fpr. For every 1 psi of boost, it adds 1 psi of fuel pressure.

Good thing I ordered the fuel line adapter. Shame the fuel rail adapter didn't come yesterday. I ordered a second that is out for delivery, I'll keep whichever shows up first.

That is the return line back to the tank, it should probably go to the bottom port of the FPR. The fuel rail Adapter line will go to the side port.

I wont have dyno numbers for a month or so; waiting to get my DRT cab mount relocation kit shipped to get all my work done in one shot.

From what I could find on the web it really benefits systems that bend before the MAF. I found some post discussing these on supercharged systems; testers found that these did not cause a restriction at WOT or anywhere else. Another comment I read pointed out that modern MAF and ECUs have high sampling rates so you may not see the "smoothing" claimed or demonstrated on other systems.

In my amateur opinion I don't think it will hurt anything; you can always friction fit it and test to see if it suits your needs.

@reywcms The one in the picture did require a straightener to make it happy due to the bends in the tube.

That’s what I was thinking as well @Vizsla. I know mafs are hyper sensitive to the length of straight pipe before air enters the reader

Oh good. You've probably seen more volume of boosted vehicles than I have. I couldn't find any data/charts supporting their claims but multiple posts on different sites corroborated those three key points.

Yes I think this design will benefit greatly by having the air straightener 3 inches before the MAF but after the bend if you can manage it.

Unfortunately we can't approve this engineering change request as it doesn't meet our prerequisite gold requirement.

Agree. I think it will likely work out for the better on this intake. The precut screens are a tiny bit larger than the tubes. Pretty easy to friction fit one in before fastening it in permanently.

Take a look at how the return to tank line is run...it goes back behind the supercharger to the hardline. Most people mount their FPR above that hardline on the firewall where there is an M6 stud, just need a nut and a big enough hole and you're set. Hook that rubber fuel injection hose to the fuel rail adapter and run the line the same as the stock return line, but connecting to the FPR, and a straight shot down from the FPR to the return hardline.

To answer your question, the fitting is probably 1/8NPT male thread to 3/8" male barb, and your FPR is most likely 3/8" barb as well, so 3/8" ID would be perfect...unless it's 5/16"
