Is the “stock” hp of 580 here so high since this is actually with the ARH headers? This would seem to indicate like a 40-70hp increase due to the headers, interesting.

Man I keep waiting for a line up with a gen3 but in 6 months of SC ownership hasn’t happened yet lol. Genuinely curious how’d they would compare in person. It seems like 50% of the gen3s around here are lifted with 35”+ tires so guessing they aren’t the fastest either.

It blows my mind how utterly incompetent most shops are. I would expect every "shop" to have a welding setup. A welder is like a tool box. The fact that it's so hard for people to find places to do extremely basic things like the O2 bung pisses me off.

This is a freaking muffler shop, oddly, I read the rest of their Yelp reviews, many were similar to my experience & the unpleasant woman is most likely his mom.

There is a YouTuber that raced his Gen 3 vs a Blown Gen 2.5 and loses.

Also the 2.30 pulley combined with the headers. I’d say even for a hub dyno those figures are less than typical. Sounds like either that truck was a total freak or that dyno is pretty generous but it doesn’t add up.

What is normal SC whine? Mine is louder than I expected (not bad) & at full throttle sounds like it's coming from the passenger side rear of the truck (weird no)?

It's hard to describe. Kind of a high pitched whine. If I'm in the passenger seat it's considerably more noticeable for whatever reason. I wouldn't say it's coming from the back though. I would even say it's like a quiet background soothing (albeit higher pitched) noise. When my rotors became mistimed the supercharger was extremely loud and didn't have the same soothing noise but more of a rumble. This was especially evident standing in front of it with the hood open and the engine bay just being insanely loud instead of being quiet with zero whine when idling.

If it sounds fine with the hood up, I wouldn't worry. That's the main tell tale imo if everything is working right. If you hear a noise like sand tapping around at idle (and can hear it from inside) then that's the coupler going out. If you hear that sound driving down the road then it's probably pinging.

Idling, it's practically silent, at normal loads, soothing whine. I'll make a video when I go to try to get the bung done in about an hour.

    Thanks!

I do get a bit of a rumble I can hear from the inside. I'll also have to make a vid on it. Mostly at lower revs. But having had a Tacoma Magnuson, I known they do tend to make some noises

I don’t care for that one, it’s a crap showing on behalf of supercharged tundras everywhere. Untuned Harrop on a truck on 35s, steel bumper, and driven poorly VS a stock tire (in the race not the thumbnail) 3rd gen. Let me have a go…:ballchain:

True. I just think it doesn’t properly highlight the stark difference in power there truly is. But are you suggesting that…

Does @reywcms have NASA gold shielding on his rig?!?

    These are universal facts.

The first time I saw the video all those factors you pointed out bothered me but he won twice despite the handcaps. This only fuels the Tundra Generation Wars.

PSB-1 owners, do I need the relay? Also the instructions refer to red and black wires. I have blue and yellow.

The red and black are part of the harness that goes to the gauge.

Do I need the map sensor?

I don’t have the PSB1, but I’d use the relay to isolate the IGN circuit (or whatever circuit you’re using) to add another layer of protection in case something shorts out. I wired my AEM that way and went out of my way to purchase the relay separately as it wasn’t included. It will also be less load on that circuit since you’re just using it as the trigger circuit and taking power directly from the battery.

On mine yellow goes to battery + and blue goes to battery - . I wouldn't follow the colors so much as the numbering on the relay and their diagram.
