I think without the lip on the very bottom it would look nice, but it’s disproportionately low in the front with it on. Race him over some speed bumps and he doesn’t stand a chance!

They are indeed 4wd. My buddy has one. He actually sold his beautiful maggy tundra to get it. If its a 10 speed one i don't think you can take him. Even though i would love to see it get beat!

Looked it up, 0-60 in 3.45 and 0-100 in 8.3. Between the power, 4x4 and the aluminum body it’s a good recipe. Also 102k so it better be…

I had a tough time deciding between keeping the Tundra and adding an s/c or selling it for ~$10k more than I paid for it and getting a Platinum F150 and adding a Whipple. We don't stand a chance against any of these 10spd F150's with an s/c.. I'd even wager one with just bolt ons and a tune.

I don’t care how fast it is, you made the right choice. I think a SC tundra is proportionately fast for how poorly trucks stop and handle. If you want to go faster, I think a pickup truck is probably not the ideal vehicle lol.

The appeal of the SC tundra is being moderately quick, towing well, and not being a POS for long term ownership.

Agreed. I would be very weary to race a good bolt on tune 10 speed truck. And they are on a whole other level with a supercharger. I raced a bolt on short bed/regular cab one in my camaro and he was at my friggin door the whole time. I was not a happy camper.

Running 10's in a daily truck would be realistic and ideal with a Whipple F150 all day. I chose the route I did because of your last statement.

Same. I think the Tundra is just an overall better truck. If all i wanted to do was go fast i would buy something else. Plus nobody expects to get whooped by a Tundra so that always makes it fun.

Whatever this forum told me to do
    this.

If I wanted to go fast, I'd drive a 1020hp 4 door sedan with whoopie cushions.

who am I kidding...I don't go fast in that either.

No sense in even playing that game. There’s always something faster.

This is true. However F150's were brought up and bang for buck the 10 spd F150's are unmatched if you want to haul ass in a truck like we all do. Currently nothing can compete against them on the street when built, either.

I drive my truck so little with having a work provided vehicle, I never really get the chance to be the red light warrior I imagined I’d be. I live a little bit into the sticks and when I venture out to the more populated areas I rarely get next to anything good. I’m most interested in some tundra on tundra crime against the 3rd gen “so much more power, more torque, more tech” crowd to check their smugness

My friend who works at a performance diesel shop always tells me how slow the tundra is. I'm not saying the tundra is fast, but for what it is it's surprisingly quick and mainly it's a lot of fun. It's reliable, can go to the dump, tow a fair bit, and I can get sideways when I want. It's not the fastest thing, but it's a very fun thing and that's good enough for me.

Guy i worked with had a tuned F150. It was fast AF. Tundra was faster off the line for half a car length and then we stayed pretty level. That was at 5000ft with the 2.3" pulley and right after I got my 5.29s. Lots of money from me to keep up with essentially a stock truck.

Depends what you want out of the truck and how you intend to use it. Where would you get a chance to use the full capabilities of the truck other than a track/strip?

The Tundra will take some money to get there and will probably never reach the potential top end a F150 has and the F150 can be done for cheaper.

Personally I will never own another Ford product ever again and advise my family the same.

You can use the capabilities of the truck at every stop light in 4wd. I live within 20 mins of a drag strip and like everyone of us, find it amusing and entertaining to pull on vehicles that otherwise wouldn't give a second look.

Your statement regarding what I'd want out of the truck and how I'd intend to use it would be directed towards the TRX or Raptor.. definitely don't need all the fancy off road bs.

I already made my choice. Your blanket statement regarding the intentions of the truck are the same intentions as us in this thread is all.

Not really no. Not a judgement of your choices either. I'm getting something else out of the thread.

I always viewed this thread as info sharing on how to safely make power for whatever your purpose and understanding the hazards of doing so.

I don't do pulls at every stop light and I don't track my truck nor do I plan to, especially not with AT tires. For me it was never a primary driver for getting a S/C.

No judgement for those that want the fastest baddest truck on the street, I just don't think Tundra will every be that truck with all the other trucks on the market and such a small community and limited mod support.

The blower gives me the ability to have a peppy spirited vehicle without having to dig deep into the pedal and redlining my truck just to pass or merge. I'm also often laden near payload, the extra power makes it much less noticeable.

Doesn't mean I don't enjoy smoking the dipsnots not letting folks pass or merge just not something I'm searching for to test. Tundra is "capable enough" for me even with its warts.

From an objective features POV, Fords were actually my second choice even though the Rams had higher ratings. I was looking at the Limiteds and Raptors with all the problems they were having I couldn't stomach owning another Ford.

Is getting the O2 bung welded normally an ordeal?

I can't find a shop to do it, one I thought would just got this on Yelp:

I hate doing this but they literally just told me to go elsewhere. I called a bit over 2 weeks ago for a simple bung weld. Jose was nice and said call when you are ready. 2 days later I called, left a message, no response. Today I called, the same unfriendly person answered and I had the same conversation.

Me: May I speak to Jose, HER: unavailable do you want to leave a message. ME: I left a message 2 weeks ago, I'm still waiting. HER: He is busy. ME: Do you want my business? HER: you can leave a message or not, it's up to you. I left a message. As I had no response I just called, got Jose (because he was mad at me & wanted to break the case of who called) which screams she did not take my name or number.

He told me he does not want my business which is fine, I would not go there if he were giving work away.

I am glad you are so busy Jose, I suggest you won't be forever mistreating potential customers.

There are no-weld bungs I've seen but I've not used one. I think AEM makes them.

Probably not the closest to you, but try calling performance muffler 602-765-0035 over on cave creek and greenway rd. They do a lot of custom exhaust and nice work. I haven't called them yet, but i was either going to try them or let dyno comp install the whole thing.

The shop installing my SC refused to weld it on due to normal rusting on the pipes. Next shop I asked said no problem and did it asap. But that second shop does high end custom manifolds and drift car builds, etc. Have you tried a welding shop?
