I need to drop it off to Prospeed to identify the issue. No codes, just that nasty cutoff every now and then. It’s odd, sometimes it’s hard to replicate the issue. Other times, it’s so easy. Having no codes for this long tells me using the oem throttle cable and avoiding the breakout MAF cable has worked in terms of no death pedal/limp mode or the P0101 code, respectively

IMHO In supercharged 5.7 Toyota applications there are no advantages to get long tube headers and a full 3 inch race system. At the end of the day it will cost you boost/power and you will need to do additional mods just to get your boost back to what it was with OEM or just a cat back system. It’s definitely worth having a conversation with Keith @dirtydeeds he is truly the foremost expert on exhaust systems for these trucks and has tried every single variation of exhausts and modifications that you can do and he will be the first to tell you that you can’t really screw up an exhaust system with a supercharger unless you put long tube headers on it then that’s a whole different story. ViktorG has long tubes but is running stock exhaust/ muffler to get that much needed backpressure back so there is no loss of boost.

Whatever this forum told me to do
this is my contention as well*.
Exhaust matters little in a S/C'd situation.

Look at the tiny little intake/MAF hole(3.5") for your power gains.

*Albeit, my contention is completely uneducated & amateurish.

I watched these two videos and still couldn't really say that I have an opinion. They didn't address our specific application scenario directly, but I would think that there'd be some aspect of what's being said that's applicable. With that said, when I upgraded to Doug Thorley headers on my S/C'd 5VZ-FE, I was able to advance the timing significantly and eliminate a ton of High Gear Low RPM pinging and I'm sure some power particularly in the bottom end.

I think they help the motor breathe better. It is all about air in and air out. I had the LTH and 3 inch exhaust before the SC and it did make a big difference naturally aspirated. The Stage II Harrop makes 7-8 psi on my truck now. Put down 512rwhp on a Mustang Dyno about 3 weeks ago. How does that compare to the folks with similar setups and no LTH?

Headers would for sure help. When you see less boost what you're seeing is less restriction. Nothing a smaller pulley can't do to add even more power on top.

My 2012 with the TRD s/c made more power on the stock manifolds, 522rwp and 504rwp with long tube system. Unless you are maxed out with your truck, built motor, 20psi, I wouldn't do headers. I'm tuning my truck again with a 2.3 pulley and 750cc injectors next month and I'm using the stock manifold on a magnuson kit. I will post the numbers.

On my 2012 it seemed easy, much easier to tune. We shall she with the 2018, my goal is 1k at the crank, taking it step by step.

Be interesting to try and get 500whp through 37s. I went for a drive yesterday and a Rivian was in front of me through the roundabout. He got on it at the exit of the round about so of course I did also. I immediately blew the tires off. The exit of the roundabout has a slight dip/g out. Sounded wicked with the wall next to me windows open blower screaming tires screeching. lol. I'll see you soon rivian (even though I'll lose) lol

I had a Rivian leave me in the dust getting onto hwy 30 yesterday evening, was talking to the owner at the Rocky Point trailhead. We left and he was behind me when we both turned right onto the highway, flew around me like I was standing still. Need my wife to go back to medical school and start making doctor money so I can have one.

Apparently the one I saw is my buddies neighbor. He said he tows his Jeep Wrangler with it. Told him to let him know I'll be around to help when he gets stranded during towing.

Pretty sure that at some point I'll migrate to full electric, and this is looking like the route I would go based on what's currently out there and my current vehicle usage.

Exactly, I've had some conversations with the wife to get her a plaid or a rivian or whatever, but nothing electric can replace the tundra unless I want to run out of juice by the time I get to the next town towing an empty trailer.

Same. My neighbor and I talk about electric cars quite a bit, he has a 2 year old Model Y Tesla and he compared it to an early iPhone - the technology is moving so fast that it's already outdated. It will be interesting in 10 years to see where things are at.

Exactly. I get the appeal if you're using it locally or whatever. But to think it can be used remotely close to a truck or offroad/overlander is a F'n joke.

Stock Toyota exhaust manifolds are the exact same as short tube headers and while LTH with 3" exhaust will get you about 25-30 HP on naturally aspirated engine it doesn't do much for a supercharged application. This is not an LS and believe me the laws of getting HP out of other type of engines really do not apply to our 5.7's. If your looking for max power with LESS headaches don't do LTH with a full 3" system. It's been proven over and over and over and over again, you gain NOTHING and you will be just chasing power to get back to where you were with OEM manifolds. The origin and development of Pro Speeds fuel system for our trucks was to FIX the AFR's and get back the loss of power on Tundras with LTH.

Picked up my truck from getting Magnusson supercharger installed!

Being careful with it for now as the “93 octane” fuel purchased turned out to be E85. Tuner noted this while looking over truck when done with install and I verified with my car scanner as well.

really irritating that the gas was not as advertised…

Highest available in Denver, due to altitude, is 91. But E85 is still available. Is there no need for different levels of E* like normal fuel at different altitudes?
