So can I test my harness to see if it will die? Are the connectors crap or does the lack of slack in the cable cause problems? Mine currently has some slack if that means anything.

Only thing you can really check is continuity on each wire from one end to the other, and the resistance of each wire. You can also test the insulation with a megger if you had one, but it probably won’t tell you much since it’s looking for leakage to ground which is probably not the cause of the issue.

Since adding my transmission cooler my IAT delta is averaging higher now. … wondering if I should pull the trigger on that vented hood.

Thanks for confirming this. I suspected the transmission cooler had some impact.

I went with the smaller one so it wouldn’t block the Hx as much. But it’s been staying above ambient by at least 40 degrees now instead of 30-32 like it used to. It seems to climb faster at stop lights as well.

Whatever this forum told me to do
    Harness update.

the marked pole (below) was glitched while checking continuity.

you have to give it a little wiggle and it will drop connection. this finding supports my error issues.

who amongst the masses knows what connection that is?

it was on the other side of the harness that was glitched.

I’d be curious if you removed that pin from the harness if the pin is poorly crimped onto the wire. You would need one of those little dental pick tools to remove it. It looks fine otherwise, so it must be a pinning issue.

    no tellin'

but if you wiggled the wires continuity would drop.

he was using alligator clips on the connections - so I guess whatever is going on in the black part of the harness is the culprit.

I noticed I burned a little oil at the track the other night. I assume that’s normal though based on some googling. I checked before I left for the track and it was at the top dot, and it never uses any between changes. I checked the next day and I had to add maybe 1/4 of a quart.

That seems like a shit load of oil for one night and a handful of WOT runs, especially if you don't normally burn oil.

Oh gotcha...I'd 100% do the Type 101 and be done with it...it's already 4x bigger surface area-wise, than the Maggy version....

Awesome! That will mate quite nicely with the ZZP High Output Intercooler Pump! Will likely order their silicon hoses as well.

I'm also thinking this. In contact now with a company who makes vents hopefully they can fab some up for our rigs. https://trackspecmotorsports.com/ Will do that or the Seibon hood.

I’ll keep an eye on it but I think it’s fine. Good chance some of it left through the PCV. I’m seeing on other platforms people saying they’ll burn a whole quart on a track day (may be circuit racing) but that would include less constant WOT than running at a drag strip. I was also probably being a bit liberal in my estimate of how much. Probably more like 1/5 quart. It was around 1/4” below the top dot.

I would bet there is a significant temp drop with the vents.

I agree I've done this in the past on other rides and worked well.
