Fuel delete mod Cup holder upgrade
It is also on their blog. I brought it up as a second constraint to the earlier "max horsepower" question.

Looks like I'll be able to start putting together my custom fit kit in the next few weeks. I already have HPTuners just gotta unlock it for the tundra.

    So far I have links:
    • figs coolant res.
    • Either the FrozenBoost or KillerChiller intercooler
    • walbro 450 fuel Pump
    • 2.30 zpe grip pulley (unless...who was making the custom pulley here? happens in that time frame)
    • Spark plugs
    • waterneck crossover
    • a lot of other small things but I have the pdf that lists that stuff and probably get it off s/c online.
    Need Links for:
    • 650 fuel injectors
    • Curious about custom braided coolant hoses and connections
    • anything else I should think about?

I have an appointment in November for some dyno pulls and tuning if needed. I have the Walbro 450 fuel pump and may go to the 2.3 pulley if the fuel system can handle it.

I'm definitely nowhere near 700 and both ProSpeed and XAT told me to call it quits on anything else until I upgrade internals.

I know that same guy had issues when it was first installed with a faulty harness for what I think was the throttle body. Harrop sent him a new harness and problem solved. I don’t know anything about it to say Mat is wrong, but I’d take whatever that guy says about the Harrop with a grain of salt. For some reason he always shows animosity toward the other brands, and I think it’s cause Magnuson started using his VF Tuner software for their tune. The guy isn’t stupid but he does seem to be petty at times. You could ask him to elaborate and enlighten us. If it was wired wrong I don’t see how it would work, or be tunable like that. My IAT reads fine and haven’t had issues so far is all I know.

He might be talking about the TB harness. I had a bad one and it shorted my throttle position sensor lol . I went on full blown limp mode, couldn’t get the truck to drive over 5MPH lol

So I am on the throttle, and it just cuts off like a fuel cut, even though it may not be that. The video shows me get on the throttle again and it goes fine. 2 videos of same issue. I did not get a CEL on the dash, however using OBDCheck BLE+ module, I get the P0101 code.

I have not updated FB post, however I used the advice of Mathew and bypassed the IAT breakout cable. Meaning the harrop breakout cable plugging into the MAF is disconnected, the original MAF cable is disconnected from harrop supplied breakout cable and is plugged backed into MAF at intake pipe housing. The IAT end is still plugged into IAT sensor, but other ends are disconnected for the time being so it's not doing anything. I tested this daily driving and I have had no issues or codes. I then went and romped on throttle in same manner in videos and I have since had zero issues. I also have no codes popping up in OBDCheck.
I do think harrop supplied cables are finicky. I had issues with the throttle extension loom and would get the CEL and dreaded 5mph limp mode which is dangerous. The new cable worked for a bit but then it would randomly occur occasionally. I have since removed this extension and hardwired my own solution. No issues for 5 months. So it's not farfetched this other Harrop cable is giving issues.

Now regarding the IAT sensor cable not being used. Here is what my uneducated guess is. The data that the IAT sensor provides is probably not used on an actual tune. It's more important when you are running stage 1 and trying to fool the stock ECM to adapt. Whatever it is, it's working great now. Just giving it a more long-term test.

So currently the ecu isn't reading iat temps or maf? How will the ecu then adjust timing/fuel etc? I would disagree that IAT wouldn't be used in some form in the tune.

man, I remember @ViktorG saying the MAF was the most important input to the ECU.

    Everything varied off the MAF.

Let me clarify, using this image from the harrop installation manual, I added my drawing colored in AQUA. I plugged this OEM MAF cable back into intake tube/maf sensor.

That ZF 8hp95, that transmission is an engineering marvel.

I would pay handsomely if Prospeed comes up with a swap kit, even if I gotta run motec, it'll be worth it.

Question. I'm looking to pull the trigger on the Walbro 450 fuel pump on ShopFigs but is it just a pump or a full kit like the URD kit? I'd prefer to get a kit like pictured. Anyone know where to get one? URD kits stop at 340 pump.

There's nothing on the URD kit that is particularly special. The pump itself when you swap it out you just cut some wires and crimp them back together and zip tie the new pump into the fuel pump housing/canister thing, then take some fuel hose and hose clamps and connect the pump outlet to the tank pass through. All the filters and other shit included in the "kit" isn't needed. Now if you want to convert your truck to that filter setup, that can be done whenever and is an off the shelf filter (maybe you can buy that from URD or find the part number for it) which also uses some hose clamps to connect. Honestly the URD kit is pretty janky, and if it was me I would just buy the Walbro pump, buy some fuel hose and two hose clamps, and you're set.

Cool, thanks. Guess I'll just piece it together.

Just placed order for the Figs coolant tank. Gonna pick it up from their shop when it's ready since it's super close to me, didn't realize that. Will see what else they got laying around.

Edit: Also ordered the ZZP High Output Intercooler Pump

Edit Edit: ordered walbro 450 fuel pump from Figs also. Swinging by their shop at the end of the week. Talking to them in email about anything else they may have to build an upgraded fit kit

Just be sure you're using submersible fuel line for the pump.

I just ordered the prototype Magnuson hub and a 2.3" and a 2.0" pulley. Fat lead time to keep it cheap, so won't see it until November. So @M3Tundra-JK maybe I'll have that figured out before you end up buying a pulley.

I tweaked the design a bit and added a second shear feature as well as increased the thread engagement of the bolts by 50%. The hub is made from 17-4 stainless and the pulleys are from 7075-T6. If these end up working I'll do a group buy or my own production run.

Sweet! I'll hold off on getting a pulley for last. I mean, I do have the regular pulley on the s/c. Is there a need to add the grooves to the pulley ridges for extra grip?

Also Figs said they have, but haven't put on their site yet, Deatschwerks 650cc injectors for $619. Gonna send me the link when he has it up.

Here's something I noticed while researching fit kit Spark Plugs. The Tundra Magnusun kit uses the same IKH 22 Spark plugs the Tacoma uses. Over on the taco world s/c thread, many of us including myself swapped over from the recommended Iridium plugs to Ruthenium plugs. I don't remember what the supposed benefit of one vs the other was, but none of us had any negative effects. Who knows if the positive was just getting rid of the old Iridiums, but I felt a "crisper" startup and smoother idle after. I'm gonna test em out

I don't think so but that will be part of the testing, and a feature that I can easily add myself on my own mill. I was also thinking of just sand blasting the aluminum to roughen the surface too. Having the modular hub will make testing things like that a lot easier since it won't involve disassembly and pressing/removing parts, just 12 bolts.
