The air straightening aspect is definitely not why I’m interested, more just the tube size and MAF mount being incorporated. Im not totally opposed to it being in the tube either I guess, but it probably doesn’t do much.

An "air straightener" if that's actually what it's called sounds like complete BS for a lot of reasons. First, if that is the honeycomb grid above that doesn't look deep enough to create laminar flow. Second, aerodynamics is extremely extremely complicated and any disturbance will fuck laminar flow up rapidly, and that includes everything from lips where couplers are to gaps where gaskets sit, and I would think the supercharger in and of itself is such a nightmare that it would do absolutely nothing. And lastly, I am extremely skeptical of any dyno graphs from any company selling a product because they guaranteed cherry picked a graph. I know someone who works at a place that sells performance parts, and he even said that they show a graph where they gained horsepower and that was the one run out of like three runs and the other two runs was no difference.

That looks almost like the “rock guards” we would pull from intakes to stop air restriction.

honeycomb is a little larger than the “rock guards”

Even according to their own recommendation they suggest putting it 4 inches before the MAF, it is only 2 to 2.5 from the MAF. Looks like it is old school "tech" thats been around for a while. Probably creates more problems than it fixes.

You can actually order them without the air straightener. Also it just screws in you can remove it, you can see the screws protruding with the picture showing the honeycomb the first picture of the body that doesn’t have the screws in it is one without the air straightener. I was going to do something similar, I had one on order for about six months it was back ordered forever. I cancelled it because my Magnuson air box which was backordered as well finally came in. I’m running Magnuson air boxes with the SABM in both my Sequoia and long travel Tundra based on ViktorG recommendations

C4633863-476F-4D69-8464-CDCFE6E91AE9.jpg Hey @reywcms this is my solution to no fender liners on my long travel. The SABM is a 3 inch 90° silicone coupler. And the stock hole I have a 4 1/2 inch to 4 inch silicone reducer coupler. I did have to enlarge the stock hole but it fit around the stock airbox and just tightened it down with a large hose clamp works great when the wheel hits it the silicone glasses I also put plastic on the ends of them to keep from collapsing not sure it’s necessary. Still need to seal inner fender around the coupler some and I might shorten them about an inch but its working great. This is my third variation of something and it’s by far the best solution I found if you actually go off routing

I am still tempted to go the magnuson airbox route since it will look cleaner and likely do the job. This other option is tempting because for the magnuson box I have to buy the upper and lower airbox, plus a filter since the 14+ filter is smaller. I’d be looking at over 300 bucks for it, where as this I can probably piece together for 150 or so and have a little more cushion with MAF voltage at 4.25” ID. It also comes at a greater risk of it not working well and wasting money though. Tough call!

Edit: I don’t recall what you’re running @Bo-Hunter, do you have a magnuson box with a Harrop blower? And if so what pulley size, and if you had a MAF voltage issue is it now solved?

See if you can find a TRD SC lid. Those fit the larger 07-13 style air box bottom and we the correct size at the maf.

*make sure it's the TRD SC one and not the "TRD intake" with the red letters, that one has the smaller tube.

I have a 2017, so I’ll need to get both the lid and the lower box was my understanding. I wish I could just put the TRD/Magnuson lid on the 14+ box, but different sizes of course.

Gotcha. yes that's correct. you would need the older lower to run the TRD.
I was assuming you had one, although I'm not sure why haha.

Got smack with P0101 this morning :-( Any suggestions? I’m thinking about pulling the trigger on the Prospeed CAI. Any other recommended brand that has bigger MAF Tube?

Tundra is running a Harrop with a Magnuson box I just bit the bullet and order it from superchargers online, it comes with the entire box not just the lid. You do not need the the intake tube as the Harrop one is pretty pliable will stretch over. My MAF was maxed out before with the stock lid because I was running long tube headers and 3" pipe not ideal for the 5.7 when supercharged so I lost 2-3 pounds of boost. After I installed the Magnuson box I was able to drop a pulley size to get me boost back and still be nowhere near maxed out. I think Viktor said you can get 10 pounds of boost with the Magnuson airbox before you start maxing out the MAF.

Did you clean the MAF? Code clear? I'm having issues with mine and I think it is related to the oiled filter.

I would avoid the PS Intake. Its open air and sucks in a lot of engine bay heat.

Kicking ideas for the fender vent to help remove heat away from the intake port. I'd cut this out then just add black mesh grill screen.

A little tease...I was part of a group buy in Tacoworld for new high performance VVTI Solenoids. A forum member was leading the charge on having them R&D'd and produced specifically for us at a heavy discount since there was only one brand available on the market and at a considerable markup. You can read all of the drama about it in the link below as the maker of the expensive one got pissed off and tried to block us at the Chinese manufacturer. Like almost a year later and we've got the products in hand!

Anyways...I'll be doing before/after dyno testing on the first set for our 3URFE engine! ETA on testing within next month

Ok ya that's them. They have a regular version and a "race" version. And for some reason their prices are all over the place. The company we are using, both solenoids actually get manufactured at the same facility in China. But our company is charging half the price. IDK what a group buy would be on the Tundra. All disclosure I'm getting my set for free since I was apart of the original group buy, and will be taking on the before/after dyno costs

I'm going to try and get the numbers off total stock 2021 engine. I'll put the stock intake back on before dyno runs.

If it goes as planned, last I checked 3 pulls is $99 at the place near me
    Dyno run1 bone stock
Dyno run2 stock with RB solenoids
Dyno run3 stock with RB solenoids + Stillen Stage 2 intake

and if I have my shit together by then

Dyno run4 above + OTT HPtuners tune
