Yes sir. I'm not expecting the subs to cycle. I don't mind pulling the bolt for them. Going to have one mag loaded with them for 1 shot, 1 kill duty around the yard to keep the neighbors happy. If they are too loud in the 22/45, I have a Remi 572 Fieldmaster pump .22 that should be even more quiet. Can't wait to take the 22/45 and some ammo to the range. I think I am going to replace the standard sights before that though.

If you want quiet, get some of these. No powder and a hopped up primer. They damn sure won’t cycle, but they are stupid quiet.

You think those would kill a big coon at 25-30 yds? I don't have to be whisper quiet... just not .380 or 9mm type quiet. One of the neighbors called the Sherriff the last time I shot one with a .380... that was at night though.

I've killed squirrels at that distance with them. A coon's a bit thicker. I'm sure a head shot would. Really not sure how it would do in a thicker chest area.

    I live in NY

I have a registered slingshot that has to be in a safe and the key given to the chief of police.
I need 30 days written notice to fire a round from it and only in designated target areas in the company of a SWAT Team and i have to pay for their overtime.

I'll pick up a box and try them. I have so many acorns every year I don't shoot squirrels. The hawks and owls keep their nests cleaned out pretty well already...lol

Sigh... I found a decent looking S&W 29 out in Wisconsin on Gunbroker that was going for 655. 8 inch barrel, claimed just handling marks and small cosmetic issues but otherwise tight. Been on the lookout for awhile. At about the 45 minute mark people who were watching started bidding it up until it was no longer worth it to me. Back to the search.

Gunbroker is tough, good deals to be had until/unless someone steps in and bids it out of the price range that makes buying from out of state worth it.

Well, I busted my RCBS .223 decapping unit. What a pain in the ass. Gotta have my buddy who owns a gun store put one on his next order, then ship it to me since no one in town has it in stock. Well, the one shop might but I won't set foot in there again.

Exactly why my OCD has ‘forced’ me into multiple die sets for my most used cartridges! I hate scrambling for parts. ;)

Yep, I have some spare parts but of course not the ones I need. It's ok though, I don't even have a rifle chambered in .223. I just have 1000 pieces of brass to decap and resize. LOL

I swapped out the crappy Browning sling on my hunting rifle in favor of a Magpul Rifleman Loop Sling. The loop allows it to be used Rhodesian style, using the sling as support for off hand shooting. Seems to work well. The only thing is with my short arms, I need to choke up on the rifle a bit more in order to tighten the loop. My support hand now sits just ahead of the magazine instead of further up the stock of the rifle. Proof will be in the testing, so I'll be trying it out at the range before using it in a hunting scenario.

    Nothing fancy. Haha.

Just a worked over LH M700 with a Timney Calvin Elite. New barrel is a SS JC Customs 1/7 RoT. (A small outfit up here that makes cut rifled barrels.) Hoping to shoot the 115 DTac, with 108 ELD is second choice.

Bolt it into a MDT ACC chassis. Started using it last year and really like it.

My buddy has been shooting the 6CM the last couple seasons and it’s been performing really well.

My 629 and my old Colt 9mm 1911 I got good deals on because they aren't super popular. The 29s are tough, people watch them like a hawk.

For you AR guys, what do you like for your foregrips? AFG, stubby vertical, long vertical, hand stop? My newest rifle will have a 18.6" barrel so I'm debating which grip to add. I'm leaning toward the stubby but I've never tried an AFG.

AFG for this kid. Couldn’t get used to the feel of vert foregrip. But it’s all personal preference, and I’m no expert. ;)

I had the the same issue when I lived in Kalifornia except with a pea shooter. They tried to arrest me for trying to use a straw and paper spitwads instead of the pea shooter because it was homemade.

I kinda like the idea of an AFG. It looks cleaner on the rifle too. I'm sure I could bring it to my friend's gun shop and try both out before buying.

I also need to decide on optics. I was thinking of a Bushnell AR 1-4x but another guy I know is pushing me towards a red dot which as me looking at Sig Sauer's offerings.

AR's...they're basically Barbie for men. :annoyed:
