is it me or does it seem like a way bigger population of tundra owners lift/wide stance frog leg style/tires

vs other owner groups just swap tires

ive owned alotta trucks and never wanted to lift them because somebody I know is always working on their rigs, this forum makes me want to lift my ride though lol

    Any lift or level done?
I am hoping that since they are “skinny”, they will tuck and operate with no lift/level

It's still great. Certainly a bit slower off the line, but not much, and same juice at highway speeds as before.

I'd consider going to 3.73s, once gears are available for these, though, just to help with towing and that off the line performance

Was holding out for some +35s to minimize poke, but I couldn’t find any. I’m happy with the way these turned out though. Not much poking out but the sidewall.

Thanks. Next up is spending too much money to de-chrome it . I love the look of the long bed. No regrets there.

I pulled the mud flaps, pinned back the fender liner, and did the body mount chop (preemptively).

I haven’t taken it off road yet, but the only rubbing I’ve noticed, so far, seems to be on the sway bar at full lock.

Keep in mind, though, that BFG 37s are a bit undersized - I measured them at just a fraction over 35” in diameter, as mounted. Unfortunately, it is also just enough over 35” that the spare won’t fit in the factory location. I’m contemplating seeing if I can cut a 1/4” or so off of the back of the hitch safely (I do tow a 4000lb camper trailer).

I’ve also considered removing the front sway bar for clearance and articulation, as well as allowing me to fit aftermarket skid plates (none seem to work with sway bar drops - particularly as large as the drop with the TRD kit) but also concerned about how that would affect handling - particularly while towing.

FWIW I also will be trimming the front, as I have a CBI Baja Front Bumper on order.

I have the TrD lift and the trd skid plate,
If you still have the original swaybar end links you can run the skid plate. I got all my original parts back from Toyota after they installed the lift.
Also I ran without swaybar for two days, to swirly for me and the roads I drive.

It will limit your articulation, though, if you run it in the stock location, and, at least I'm thinking, probably cause more stress on the sway bar links, so you may end up with failure there, sooner or later.

You have a great looking truck!

There are ways to, at least, minimize the cost... I've done everything but the mustache (waiting, at least, until I get the new front bumper, since the bottom pieces will be chopped off). I was able to get all of the parts for about $1000 shopping around on the online parts stores for my local toyota dealers (hint: just go to "parts.(dealer website).com" and search the part number you're looking for, which I just found here on the forum) - check a number of them, as online pricing varied widely, from full MSRP to 30%ish off. I did use Sparks Parts for the color-matched door handles. And, FWIW, so far, seems like the cheapest place I've seen for the mustache is paintedoemparts.com (anyone else have a better suggestion?).

Of course, still way too much to spend for something that should've come from the factory that way in the first place!

Definitely a hard wheel to get a hold of, I was lucky enough last year to find the "last 4 in the region" in bronze according to the guy at discount. I got the 9 inch wide in +12 offset

they are matte black so they will always feel ‘lighter’ than the deep gloss black on the outer ring and on the Platinum fenders. They are really good looking wheels, especially for the MGM Plat (opinion :)

Just now took my 1794 TRD to dealer to check wheel alignment. Although minor, I finally determined that yes, the steering wheel has to be just a tad to the left in order to drive straight on most road surfaces. The left lane on the interstate being flat or ever so slightly left sloping is the only place that the truck will drive straight with the steering wheel straight. If I left go of the steering wheel it would track true to what ever it was set to, so no "pull" in the classic sense. I understand that right lane or crowned roads will pull to the right and thus need to steer left a bit to compensate. But it's been more so than on other vehicles.

I was concerned that they would charge to check and correct the alignment. But it turns out that Toyota has a 12 month warranty on alignment, so no charge. Good deal and relieves my concern that I would have to argue over a charge. I see others have found that factory alignment is not good so will be interesting to see how this turns out.

    Need some help finding wheels.

I have a stock limited on 265/60R20s. I would like to go down to an 18inch rim and increase tire sidewall for a plusher ride but keep the overall size dimension the same to not have to mess with speedo or anything. So I'll be going for 275/65R18 Michelin LTX A/Ts.

That being said, I really like to keep my cars looking factory, so I'd like to find either an aftermarket rim or maybe a tacoma/4runner stock rim (haven't seen all options yet) in 18inch that will let me keep my factory toyota center cap? I've seen some 18inch aftermarket rims I like, but what do I do about that cover/hub cap? Should I get a sticker, what are my options? Just to add, I am not a fan of the stock tundra 18inch rim.

For the part about having the steering wheel pull. I used to work at a local mech shop when I was younger and we did alignments. The old man that did alignments forever, when I worked with him he taught me that the steering wheel has to pull right a touch and never drive straight forever so if the driver falls asleep or has a heart attack while driving, the vehicle pulls off the road and into the ditch not on coming traffic. That’s just what I was taught so I’m not sure if that’s a law or just good practise.

    Wow, that is interesting.

All I can say about it is that on two other vehicles that I've driven extensively in the area I live I don't find this steering wheel bias as much or at all. To be fair, the Tundra has more aggressive tires that the other vehicles, so yes, those could track differently on different road surfaces. But I would think that would show up as a pull to one side rather than a steering wheel off center bias. Will be interesting to see what is found on the alignment rack as they call it.

usually toyota will do adjustments within the first 12 months for free (unwritten rule). just depends on the dealer. some balk some will do it without issue.
