    Nice ride…

Get yourself some of the widely available 295 /70 R18 and you will have zero issues (will be able to run mudflaps if you find them and won’t even need to touch the liners).

The tire size itself will give you an additional 1 or so inch of lift just due to its shear size but it’s my recommendation and what I used to run pre-lift.

Complete noob here. I purchased a white SR5 with the air suspension a month ago. I want to upgrade the wheels and tires WITHOUT a lift if possible and WITHOUT removing that metal piece that I've seen others remove. What is the biggest possible tire size I can go with if I buy 18" wheels? and what about 17" wheels? Also will any 18" or 17" wheel work? Like I said, I'm a noob when it comes to these kinds of things, I don't know anything about bolt patterns or offsets, etc. I tried to read through most of the pages in this thread but I get a little lost when talks of "offset" come into play. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Thank you, I'll start there. Do you know if I purchase 17" wheels, will I just need to adjust it to 295/70/r17 and it will have the same effect or no? Also will any wheel work or will I have to look out for specific specs to avoid rubbing?

If you purchase 17’s you will need to step up to something like 315 /70/17 to get the same diameter but the width will be wider by about 1 inch.

See the difference below with 295/ 70 tires on a 18 vs 17 wheel…gives you the best perspective.
You can also play around with the website see your options. C0ECAD61-9780-40C7-8353-FFBE1CD800BD.jpg A1702FA9-29F6-4737-BCB1-B551F4324446.jpg

Secondly, if you buy new wheels you will need to get something with a decent offset or else you may rub also. Most guys seem to be running +18 and +20 offset so that the tires/wheel doesn’t poke out too much from the fender.
Some like me are running a +12 and still others are at 0 offset (smaller the number the more it pokes out).

So my advice is to look for the 17’s or 18’s wheel size with +18 or +20 offset (lug pattern is 6x139.7 or 6x5.5).

It’s safer to go with an 18” wheel only because you have a guaranteed fit (some 17’s rub in the caliper)

…but if you were dying to get a set of 17’s you saw please ensure it fits first by either verifying with a member on this forum or in some cases the tire shop or distributor/manufacturer.

best setup with no mods will be 295/70/18 with +18 offset

Like the wheel description attached, how do I know if it will fit the tundra and if it will, what tire size I need to get with the stock setup? That’s what I find confusing

The Bolt pattern (6X139.7) is correct…17’s are iffy once they get mounted with wheel weights and such they might rub and you probably want a wheel that’s at least 7.5’ in width (these are 7” wide).

Also…+4 offset is out there from a tundra perspective…I would just stick to +12 and up (and most will say +18 is the sweet spot).

So these I would stay away from these and narrow your search to 18” wheels.

A couple websites below are good starters that allows you to narrow down by vehicle/year and you can see options.

dude thank you for the info. Your definitely helping me make sense of it all. I really like the look of bronze wheels on a white tundra but there isn’t that many options. Or maybe I’m not looking in the right places. Have y’all thought about doing a group buy on a popular set of wheels?

    No problem.

Group buys will come sooner or later…usually it will be another few months or so as some more known Wheel manufacturers make more options for this new Tundra (previous Gen had a different bolt pattern).

For now most folks are getting what they can get (budget, availability and such) given everyone just plunked down $50K+

So for many these might be interim steps until other options come along that we really love.

Happy Hunting…it’s a pain but you learn so much in the process and get that rewarding feeling in the end.

Method is running a sale right now. I am putting bronze wheels on my WCP tundra, they showed up yesterday. WCP, blacked out all chrome and bronze wheels will look killer. https://www.blackhornoffroad.com/collections/wheels/products/bh01br. 21.5lbs- super light, amazing reviews from the tacoma/ 4 runner crowd, and half the price of other wheels (and I get smoking deals on wheels). $740 shipped to my door in 3 days.

Those blackhorns are nice…I looked at them a few month back (in bronze too) but couldn’t find Tundra reviews and was afraid of fitment so I passed.

…and you definitely can’t beat the price

I found a guy on the facebook group who test fitted them and said they cleared. Worst case scenario if they dont I order some methods and sell these here in Boise on marketplace for $700 in a day, or drop them into my Opus camper (same bolt pattern).

Are you aware if that offset fits flush with fender?

that offset and tire size will stick out about 2” and bigger tires will stick out more, smaller tires will be more flush. If you look through this entire thread you’ll see I’ve posted pics and there are so many others

I'm trying to get a handle on genuine Toyota sema/4runner wheels. Any genuine 20" wheel options from previous years? I'm seeing a lot of "pro style" or "sema style" out there...not sure if they are rip offs.

I’ve have a set of Blackhorns bh-01’s and they fit well on the tundra. I haven’t had tire mounted and balanced yet, but there was plenty of space for weights.

Could have taken a better angled pic but just got new tires yesterday. TRD sport everything stock running 275/65/R20 ridge grapplers.

Yep! I was supposed to get it leveled yesterday with a RC 1.75 kit but shop was having trouble getting it to work. They claim it’s the type of suspension used in the sport model but I don’t know much about this stuff so I’m not sure if it was due to their inexperience with the model or in fact the part. Will likely consider another option down the line.

Sheesh those WildPeaks are nice. I love the 32.5" WildPeaks that came on mine. Wanna do some 35" ones, but $450 a tire is a hard pill to swallow. lol
If I can sell my current ones I'm gonna do it though.

Looks great! That wheel (in black) & size is the exact one I plan to order - the +35 offset with 285's might be the ideal setup for tread/sidewall placement. I'd love to see how 315's sit with that wheel/offset for comparison. I feel like they'd have just enough flare to start throwing up gravel from logging roads all over the paint, though.

Stock 18 Alloy wheels (not TRD Offroad) SR5 with powder coat- Tiger- Iron glimmer effect P7 (is what I was told the color is)
Westcott AVS 2 in front 7/8 in back preload collar lift (aluminum - not anodized black)
Painted stock wheel cap a black/gray then with a matte clear coat (rattle can done by me)
Factory Lug nuts- probably switch to black
35 percent tint front window on top of factory window (front windows only aftermarket tinted)
GoRhino Dominator Xtreme D6 Side Steps

I like it. gives me a little beef without feeling too far from factory (my current preference)
