Awesome good to hear. I’ll be looking to upgrade to a TRD Sport in MY25, hoping for the hyper silver when I’m ready!

Those are 18x9" +0mm offset 6x139.7 with 106.2mm center bores. They'll fit 2000-06 Tundras, most Tacomas thru 2023, most 4Runners, all FJ Cruisers, and other vehicle as well.

The +20mm offset version with 95.2mm center bore is the version we intend for use on the 2022+ Tundra. The 18x9" +0mm BFD will fit the 2022+ Tundra, but the +0mm offset is very aggressive. You'd also need to use 106mm-95mm hub centric rings, which is not a big deal, but the 18x9" +20mm offset version is hub centric (95.2mm) for the 2022+ Tundra.

They are nice but way too aggressive of an offset at -18mm. Plus they are backordered and not expected until mid June at the earliest, I was willing to wait. However, I like the Vossen HF6-4 in Terra Bronze, more costly but very nice. They are 22x9.5” at +20mm, which still should look good.

OK, I've been through hundreds of pages on this thread and pulled out some really helpful info, so thanks to all! I'm a first time tire upsizer, so I'm learning a ton right now. I'd like to put the largest tire I can onto my OEM Off Road package without running the risk of rubbing on all the other factory parts. I'm seeing guys saying 315s barely rub at full lock, 305 isn't a common size, 295 might rub depending on offset. 1) Does it all boil down to just biting the bullet on tires and wheels and then making necessary adjustments? 2) Am I going to have to deal with centering rings no matter what wheel I choose, or are some brands a clean match with OEM wheels? 3) Am I correct that offset is built into the wheel, as opposed to being something that can be adjusted during installation with spacers? 4) How many of you are recalibrating your speedos, and at how many revs per mile does this start to matter to you?

Thank you @FNWheels - your recent posts have answered a lot of my questions with their detail and comparative analysis. And has been very helpful as well for anyone else that might be trying to figure this stuff out for the first time. I've also been making Tire Rack's website think I'm a robot with all my back and forth clicks looking at slightly different variables each time . . . it literally stopped giving me new pages the other night.

Oxlsu-40, I love those 295/60/20, Nitto, Recon Grapplers you put on there. I want to put them on my 2024, Tundra. I have a leveling kit on the front. Have you had any rubbing at all on sharp turns going up or down driveways? Do they clear the struts? My tire guy said they would rub so he talked me into the 275/65/20’s. They look good but the 295/60/20’s are a little wider but same exact diameter and look better. But I just want to make sure you didn’t make any modifications ie: spacers, washers etc.

Westcott TRD standard lift 3" in front 1" in the back. The one without the TRD lift shocks
Falken AT4 35 x 11.5 - No rubbing - I liked this tire because it is D rated - 3000lb load rating and the 35 looks good on the 6.5 bed.

Paul, your truck looks great! I have my new TRD being built as of this week and am looking to put the same size tires on it. Do you know what your new roof height is in inches with the bigger tires? My garage at work has me limited at 80" max height and am hoping these tires will still allow me to fit in the garage.

    Thanks!

    Glad to help!

    1) Does it all boil down to just biting the bullet on tires and wheels and then making necessary adjustments?

If you're trying to avoid rubbing and you wish to maintain your stock TRD Offroad OEM suspension (i.e. no lift) I would consider a 34" tire diameter with a width somewhere in the range of 275mm ~ 295mm (10.5" ~ 11.5") about as large as you should go. The rim width should be 8" ~ 9" and the offset should be +20mm or higher. This is a generalization, but a pretty good rule of thumb.

Some people have had success squeezing 35's onto the OEM wheels with stock suspension while others have reported some rubbing, so I'd say 34's are the way to go if you want to avoid or minimize the rubbing.

These pictures are from one my customers with a 2023 Tundra 4x4 TRD Offroad, stock suspension, 17x9" +25mm offset Five Stars and 285/75R17 Toyo Open Country AT-III tires (34"). He reported very minimal rubbing on his front mud flaps while offroading and no rubbing on the street.

    2) Am I going to have to deal with centering rings no matter what wheel I choose, or are some brands a clean match with OEM wheels?

Check the wheel center bore and look for 95.1mm or 95.2mm center bore wheels if you want to avoid hub centric rings.

Most aftermarket wheels are going to have center bores that are 106.1mm, 106.2mm, or 108mm (+/-), because they are designed to fit as many trucks as possible. 95mm center bores are very limiting in so far as they won't fit trucks with larger hub diameters, so most of the big aftermarket manufacturers aren't going to make wheels with smaller center bores.

If you buy wheels with larger center bores you'll want to get hub centric rings with an outside diameter (OD) that matches the wheel's center bore and an inside diameter of 95.1mm or 95.2mm for a hub centric fit on your hubs.

If, for example, you order aftermarket wheels with 106.1mm center bores, the correct hub rings will usually be listed as 106mm to 95mm.

We currently offer three wheels that are 95mm hub centric (meaning the wheel center on the Tundra hub without the use of a hub ring). I believe there are a couple of other wheel manufacturers that also make wheels with 95mm center bores, and of course all of the OEM wheels are hub centric.

It's not a big deal for you to use hub centric rings. Hub rings work just fine. However, I would check the center cap design of the wheel before ordering rings. Some wheels still use push-thru caps that insert thru the center bore from the backside of the wheel. That type of center cap design changes the type of ring that you should use. You would need a ring that fits inside of the center cap itself, or if you don't plan to use the caps you would order rings that fit into the wheel.

    3) Am I correct that offset is built into the wheel, as opposed to being something that can be adjusted during installation with spacers?

Offset is always built into the wheel regardless of what the offset is.

Ideally you would find wheels that have the correct offset to begin with, so that you don't need to use wheel spacers.

Also, since the Tundras work best with positive offset wheels it's important to remember that spacers effectively reduce your offset by the thickness of the spacer. I.e. a 1.25" spacer lowers your offset by 31.75mm (1.25" x 25.4mm per inch = 31.75mm). 1.25" wheel spacers wouldn't be considered too aggressive for use with OEM wheels which are +60mm offset, but 1.25" spacers might be too aggressive for use with aftermarket wheels that have lower offsets.

For example, if you add 1.25" spacers to your OEM +60mm offset wheels you've effectively lowered your offset to +28mm.

Do those Rokblokz offer more clearance than factory mud flaps? Truck looks great.

Thank you! I cannot say as mine didn’t come with any factory mud flaps. I noticed a very slight rub on the front driver side flap at “near” full left turn but it isn’t critical… that particular area is very flexible. When I measured the distance between the tires and mud flaps/wheel wells the driver side tire is a whole 1/2” closer! It was recently aligned, drives smooth, but I don’t know why it would sit a good 1/2” further back in the wheel well. Caster adjustment?

It’s probably the caster causing the difference.

I don’t get it but I’m kinda new to this , I have a buddy running 35/12.5 20 with only 1 inch wheel spacers and doesn’t even have any rubbing anywhere . And you have a 3 inch lift and an inch smaller on the width .. that would piss me off if I was in your shoes haha

yes, C rated! Still a bit stiffer than stock, but overall I like the ride, and so does the wife, and they’re pretty quiet tires.

    @JGG10,
Your setup looks great and love your truck color. Did you have to turn-off the PCS due to the combination of tire height and 3" lift? thanks

No probs here with 36/12.5/18 on stock TRD PRO suspension.

Just installed Kansei 17x8.5” wheels and 315/70/17 load range C Goodyear Territory MT tires and the ride is so stiff. Aired down from 40psi to around 32, it got better but still bouncing around. There are no suspension mods. I had the 20” limited wheel and tire set up and thought if anything the ride would get better since there’s more sidewall. Is this anyone else’s experience?IMG_5488.jpg IMG_5493.png
