I've been averaging around 16-16.5mpg. My best mileage has been 19.11 and 19.06. I've gotten a couple over 18 and my lowest have been 14.01 and 14.05 which were some of the last fill ups with the cold weather.

Must be nice. I'm pretty much 85% highway miles for the daily commute and seeing about 12.4. BTW, sweet profile name and avatar. One of the best movies of all time. "China is here Mr. Burton"...hahahahah!

Regarding the slow leak check the valve stem and make sure its tight enough. I had a slow leak, 2 weeks to flat, and it was leaking from the valve stem.

Who buys a truck (let alone, a V8/full sized truck) for fuel? :)

12-17 MPG for almost 400hp and a truck this heavy, but yet this peppy, I'm good. I remember back in high school 400hp and 1-3 mpgs.

For grins I checked out Fuelly and the Ram forum we are consistent with all other pickups despite the claims of the other manufacturers. If anything it seems Toyota has been more honest in their MPG ratings. I wouldn't trade my truck for 1 or 2 more mpgs to have cylinders deactivate or some other tricky business. When I hit the gas I want the truck to move and she does, very happy with the 5.7l.

This is a fun post to read on Tundra Solutions, some tips on how to save fuel. :)

getting 17 mpg on the daily commute. No traffic and about 7 lights or stop signs, 25 miles one way. I plan to get a K&N drop in that should help.

Fuelly shows me at 16.4 avg right now. I got really good mileage on 2 tanks a month and about a month and a half ago at 19.06 and 19.44mpg.

1st Gen 2002 TRD OR AC 4.7V-8 Auto 265/70/17's 120+k Most of the time she is running around up in the mountains and weighs in about 5800# Pretty much averages 13-15mpg depending on summer or winter gas. Best tank was about 18 when she was new and empty. Stupid Lumber rack cost me almost 2mpg! So generally I see about 14mpg. Worst has been when going to Moab with a 7ft. tall box of an FJ-40 on a 16ft Carson doing 75+ (lets just say with camping gear and such Toyota would not be happy with my CGVW) then it runs 9-10mpg (will do 11-12 at 55 but I like to get there). I've done the Moab Trip with a Chevy 3/4 Ton (350 AT) and a Ford 3/4 Ton Chateau Van (460 AT) and the Tundra does better all round at towing and gets by far the best mileage of the 3...the Chevy got about 8 and I don't even want to talk about the gallons per mile the 460 drank! Also, remember the mileage isn't all about the 4.7, the early Tundra's only had a 4-speed auto and I think lower rear gearing than the newer ones. Also, when I tow I have OD switched off so actually am running a 3-speed auto tranny with a 1:1 final.

I've had 4 Tundra's and the fuel mileage has generally been 11.5 around town and 14-15 on the highway. Saying that, my best mileage was 18 mpg over 700 miles on flatland bone stock Pro. My worst was 6.86 mpg pulling a 9000# trailer through mountains at or above the speed limit with a supercharged Tundra.

I'm getting 14.5 around town, just took a 343 mile trip and averaged 19.33 on the highway. Return trip I had a empty car trailer with me weighing 2080lbs and it dropped town to 16.5mpg. Overall my mileage isn't far off from my 2014 Silverado I had and it was 2wd 4.3lv6.

How do you guys get anything north of 15? Mine has always been in the 13mpg range. I am not even sure if I could get 15 with the motor off, coasting down a steep hill. Is it driving style, mods...something else? I would feel like I was saving a lot of $ at the 15+mpg mark. I have the '13, 5.7, RW, DC. I could easily justify the cost of additional mods if I was gsing quality MPG.

I've gotten 17.3 avg over the past 1500 miles (calculated.... dashboard readout varies, some tanks readout more, some less). 60-70% highway @ 60 MPH, hilly terrain. Think I've discovered something, but still testing my theory. Gets about 1-1½ MPG better, by preliminary results. I'll post up after a few more miles of testing.

Here is my question. What kind of mileage are people with oversize tires getting? The people with the 15mpg to 17mph I would assume are running a damn near totally stock truck.
