Sounds like moving was the right choice. Unless you are absolutely tied to the house, family pass down, etc., It wouldn't be financially beneficial to do what you were wanting. The cost of the additional changes is where the legs would be chopped off.

We've thought about adding a garage door to the back of ours for a drive through feature. Like you, that idea went out after we started looking at how much yard space we would loose. Nope, nope, and nope! I like my yard.

I live in a HOA and the houses look all fairly similar. It's a great idea but I don't know if I could get away with it. Ramps should be here Monday, going to try that first although long term not ideal to pull up on a ramps everytime.

Ok one Sexual pun and then on to being serious. Sometimes it’s a gift to be a few inches long. Lol

I don’t have a simple solution for this one. Can you send some pictures of the backside of the garage? If you try to retrofit the garage door it’s going to be a pain. My first idea is to do a small extension on the back side of the garage. I’ve got an idea but I need to see the back of the garage and the inside wall on the backside as well.

Rip out the sheet rock to the studs, gain 1/2"! Only around the front bumper area....... :)

I believe the ramps will work, but curious how you will fix them to floor so they do not move???

An elevated slab or (step up)in front may work well also, maybe 3-4", or how ever tall the ramps are.

Ramps will be here Monday. I'm not sure yet how I'm going to make sure the ramps don't move. My girlfriend still has to get her car next to mine.

Quick! Some one grab a garage extender!

Serious note: No (easy/cheap) fix for this. Cheapest is take off back bumper. Most expensive is add a few feet to garage. Somewhere (in the middle closer to cheaper) is head of those studs at the front bumper (with a header like over load bearing doors and windows) to create a niche for your bumper to pull into. Max this will gain you is 1/2” plus 3.5” for a total of 4”. This will take your bumper right up to the backside of your kit cabs drywall. Only a 1/2” of drywall between your bumper and the kitchen.

This leaves no margin of error for accidents. You may also have plumbing in wall that will prohibit doing this.
Quick! Someone grab the truck shrinker!

Providing it works, Thinking some 2 x 4's anchored to the floor boxing in 3 sides of the ramps should keep in place.

The ramps could still be tricky for everyday use. Thinking a bigger hearty wood ramp structure anchored to floor would be a more permanent solution.

Can you send pics of the very back wall inside and outside of your garage? I’m trying to determine if you can install a header along the back wall and do a small addition to the back of your garage.

    Too many to list
U either have 2×4 or 2 x 6 in your garage wall. Rear bumper sticks out good 3-4 inches as compared to front bumper. What if u cut the 2 x4 right at above the height of the rear bumper and support it little outside the width of the truck. I m pretty sure there is no load bearing joist running that way.

Now u should be able to gain the 3-4 inches that u need. U just have to reverse your truck in the garage everytime but u have the back up camera.

    Would that work?
