Lol pardon my shower thoughts coming out :rofl:but I was wondering how cost effective it would be to ship pretty heavy/large something say from one side of the country to another?

my thoughts were in the future if someone wanted an item from say CA, but lived in GA, we could set up a multi-state rally where depending on the distance a nearby forum user would drive it a certain distance, another poster midway, who would then meet up with the buyer.

Of course the buyer would have to pay each person to make it worth their time, but even saving several hundred could be worth thinking about. setting it up through the forum obviously would require some planning, with very flexible expectations of delivery time, and also a huge trust factor involved.

Not sure if ups or alternatives have gotten to the point where it’s way cheaper just to ship through a company, but thought it might be a cool way for users to meet others while also helping out posters at the same time :monocle:.

Tacoma world already has something like this. We kicked this idea around for some of the first genners but I think that's as far as it went

rly? I'm hoping the idea would get back some traction in case I need it myself one day :D

At the very least I think having a sticky for a tundra rally run would be worth it to those who are interesting in helping out, but dont mind me, im just a peon. :p

Lots of federal (assuming you cross state lines) regulatory requirements depending on if you're a common carrier or a contract carrier....insurance mainly.

As mentioned - it’s been done. @Cruzer drove a tailgate panel several hundred miles for me in April for the low low price of some local IPAs.
    :fistbump:

I sent some headlights to Flagstaff for @tsinajinii on the TW Express. Yotas get shit done.

I mean, I know someone in TX that wants my OEM wheels, but I'll be damned if I know any members who're going to TX by way of the I-20/I-75 cross. I have access to some awesome local IPAs, one of my closest friends owns a brewery.

I'll be headed from TX to NC to visit our families in November and will make a trip back home by way of 85S to 20W. Only thing is I'll have all the kids and our stuff for a week in my wife's SUV, but I'm not saying it's not possible.

Then it's a matter of coordinating someone else to go from my place in DFW to where this guy is or I get to hold on to @shifty` 's OEM wheels at the cost of what I was already doing and I get some local GA IPAs

Welp, you'd be looking at a tube-stack almost 4ft tall, and 2.5ft diameter. And I'd also need to see if our fellow TX member is really wanting to go there or not, but I would expect them to drive the 4hrs round trip to get them in DFW.

Yeah, that's the issue..... SPACE. 6 people, the dog and a week's worth of luggage for each plus snack and kid's entertainment. Every time we make that trip, it sucks. My wife wants to fly this year. If it weren't for the fact that it's the week of Thanksgiving, I'd entertain flying.

Nah, I think it was either @Mr.bee or @DJenerated who wanted them, but maybe it was you. Whoever it was, I said I'd cut 'em a deal if they could get 'em outta here. I just need them gone, I have a tiny enough garage as it is and I'm currently juggling 4 OEM complete wheels, 5 new-in-box wheels, and the complete wheels currently on my truck. Would ideally like to make room soon before the better 3/4s gets annoyed.

Wouldn't be the first time the Tundra Xpress rides the redline, yellow line.

I took a skid plate and sway bar from Flagstaff, AZ to College Station, TX.
I've also taken stuff across the state of TX on a few occasions. All for other people. I've never charged anyone, but tips are always welcome.
I typically only volunteer when I'm going that way anyways.

Well I can help out with any NE legs of the xpress, not that there’s that many members up here and beyond. I am stuck with a camper shell for the time being so kind of limits what I can pick up tho
