I have a 2017 Tundra TRD after the vehicle has been off for several hours I heard the the fuel pump running. I took the gas cap off and there was a lot of pressure built up then the fuel pump immediately turned off and has stayed off? I recently has a tree fall on the bed which did some damage but it is still driveable and nothing underneath the truck seemed to be damaged. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the link. Is it normal to have that much pressure in the fuel tank. I owned a 2011 tundra for 6 years (sold it to my son) and I never heard the fuel pump run like that or noticed that much pressure when removing the gas cap.

I will post a picture of the truck after it is fixed. 2 months old and a tree fell on it while I was driving, ripped the tail gait off. Needs an entire new bed. Luckily no doors or anything up front was damaged.

it's not the fuel pump, it's an air pump injecting air into the system to check for leaks

You sure its a pressure build-up and not vacuum?
