Fuel Pump Running HOURS after car was turned off?

    My 2017 tundra started humming at noon and had been sitting since 730 am. It was coming from the fuel tank. Opened the fuel cap and it got louder. Turned the key without turning on the vehicle and it stopped. Seems like they are just trying to be sneaky and force your fuel pump to work overtime to shorten it's life. I'd be interested to know how often it happens. Are there any recalls on the pump? Also notice my flanges behind the catalytic converters on my muffler are the only things that are rusting on the entire truck. Anyone just remove those and weld the muffler together?
