2008 double cab 5.7 4x4. I ran out of fuel today but the gas gauge never went below just under 1/8 of a tank. The fuel light never came on. I have been thinking the gauge isn't quite right since it comes off of full very quick after filling up. Has anyone else had issues with the fuel gauge? 385 miles when I ran out.

May be the float on the fuel sending unit getting stuck. It can be replaced by you if youre handy. Also, not good to run these things down to fumes on the regular. The fuel pump is cooled by the fuel in the tank, I know this wasn't intentional. Even with a good light, I fill up every three hundred miles to make sure my pump stays cool.
