FS: 2018 Tundra LED Headlights Plug N Play wire Harness for 2014-2017 models

I know all the credit for putting everything together on this harness belong to you @thomasbus337 and thanks for that, what I did only is send some of the guys asking me for a harness directly to the ballenger site when no one here know they had 14 in stock, they post the harness as a single side so need to buy 2, one for driver side one for passenger side

 

The 8 way connector on their store is CONN-101017 they shared this to me, but they pulled down the part from their website and make them directly but they told me theres more in the way in the nexts 2 weeks

 

Finally found the time to install these headlights today. Took a little over an hour to run the harnesses and then button everything up. Thanks to @Roman for the lights and @iHacker for the harness.

 

iHacker, i am wanting one of your harnesses for a 2016 Platinum, how can I purchase from you? Do you do a package W/ Motocontrol also? Thanks.

While the pics of the '18 LED lights do look nice, I discovered they look much nicer in person. They really pop when you can see them up close and personal.

@iHacker So with ur harness no need to cut any wires like other harness being sold? the amber light no longer works? or only for turn signal?

 

If you follow my instructions zero wire cutting is involved, 100% reversible to stock, just need to do the pin reconfiguration in turn signal socket, Depin the DRL gray wire in cab, tap to a 12V ign wire to power LED DRLs is realy simple.

 

The ambers work as turn signals only, like any other 1794/Platinum with LEDs from factory

This video show the process in the video go forward to minute 8:30 the connector is almost the same kind and use a thumbtack to release the pin from latch holding it in the connector sometimes if hard for some people but is doable

Sorry but I don’t offer the motocontrol for sale, for warranty purposes is better to buy it directly from The Retrofit Source, they only accept warranty claims from original buyer.

Curious, does your harness for the SR5 and Limited still dim the LED without the interior depin of the gray wire for the for the amber DRL?.....I kinda like the look of the amber being on. But, BTW, your harness seems to be the best built here by far, thanks for all you do!

 

My harness with dimming function need the Gray wire depin in cab, probably in theory might work without the depin and still dim but you will need to tap the gray wire instead, I didn’t tested the harness that way but should work with ambers still on

 

Let see how @dsimonl end wiring his, I been talking about this same topic with him, he wants Amber DRL at the same time but still need the LED DRL dimming function,

 

If you don’t depin the gray wire and leave all 3 wires in at the turn signal bulbs. When you lock and unlock power will back feed and cause interior lights and tail lights to act funky. So if the gray wire stays the purple wire needs to be depinned at both bulb sockets and taped so there’s no back feeding.

Amber drl’s will still Work along with the led drl’s

 

Yes that's what I suggested @dsimonl for my harnesses the only thing changing is the depin of gray wire, purple wire in turn signals still out of socket powering dimmed DRL, so in this case this is the scenario


Headlights OFF

LED DRL bright, Amber DRL bright and turn signals

Headlights ON

Dimmed LED DRL, Amber DRL off and working only as turn signal
