What wires you swapped in turn signals?

For your 1794 only white/black is the one you have to move,

Also what kind of bulb have you used to replace, the correct bulb size for 2018 headlights is 7444NA, using incorrect bulb also cause hyper flashing

I used the bulbs that came with my 18' LED headlights, pretty sure they are 7444NA. I also have error-free amber LED bulbs. On the passenger side, that works fine, I used the 744NA and the LED and with either bulb it flashed normal. On the driver side, I tired the 7444NA and the LED and with either bulb, it would hyper flash.

Seems to be ok, in the light hyper flashing check for any loose connection, pin seated correctly, or maybe any object interfering with connections a piece of wire, wet connections bended contacts in bulbs or sockets is weird the wires are in correct location for standard bulbs, for LEDs the rewire isn’t required

 

Thanks for the insight, I will go back through and check all the details. I was thinking along the same lines that there is a connection issue somewhere, pin seat or a small issue. Ill update once I do that.

 

Once I get the hyper-flash issue sorted out, this is my focus for the next mod to the 2018 LED headlights.

I purchased clear side-marker reflectors (from Klearz). Need to crack open the lights and install these even though I know its gonna be a PITA....





I think the clear side-marker looks really clean

Anybody by Ventura county ca that has done the 18 led conversion Wants to supervise me on my install? COLD ONES ON ME. Am just scared of electrical wiring... might be pulling the trigger soon

 

I'm on the Central Coast of CA. I have experience on the 1794/Platinum install for the 18 LED conversion. The SR5/Limited/Pro is slightly diff. I also have an extra 18" LED "black housing" passenger side headlight still in the box. (long story).

Where are you guys ordering your headlights from? I checked on Sparks Toyota and it is over $100 to ship to SoCal.

 

Have you tried CamelBack Toyota (Based in Phoenix Arizona) I used to buy parts from them before for my Tacoma when I was an active TacomaWorld member and they offer Free FedEx Ground shipping, I just checked and each headlight Assy is priced at $307.38 still a good price if ships for free. I have other toyota parts sites in my list buy checked and they charge sales tax to California buyers

I bought mine from Roman Toyota Of CoolSprings but sometimes shipping is expensive and not negotiable from them but you can always try coupon code FORUM20 I guess, try contacting Roman first to get an accurate shipping quote their shipping calculator fails sometimes

 

Got mine from @Roman as well but saved $$ when they were having a special discount on shipping.

 

@lbcdan You can also try a local dealership to price match the lowest offer so that way can get the best price and no shipping charges, some dealerships are insane and will try to rob you if you let them do it but others still care about customers.

 

I asked....they laughed and said for that price im not getting genuine toyota parts!

 

I would love to do this mod. I have a 2017 Tundra Limited with NO drl. Even with the harness, some of the wiring stuff seems intimidating.

I've been calling local, doesn't seem any shop wants to do this kind of mod. The dealership just wants to sell you a new truck.

Any one know a shop in the northern virginia area that would do this mod, if I provided the parts? If anyone here would be willing to help me install this I would pay a fee too.

to be honest, i was a little worried about the install myself. It is soo simple. Some people say they are taking 4 hours to do this. I was done in about 45. I was messaging iHacker about the best way to run the harness and best ground points. He was very helpful and besides those two items, the rest was plug and play.

Order my headlights this afternoon from Spark Parts used Tundradude34 which helped. Should be here by Friday! Woot woot! Ordered harness and relay from Retrofit on sale currently, great deal going on right now. Can’t wait to install!!!!

 

Ihacker harness is better than retrofit if u want factory look with led DRL to dim when headlights r on. On retrofit website there harness doesn’t dim when headlights on and also u have to rewire for turn signal. Ihacker is a pnp for Turn signal. I guess its what u like, factory look or not. Am all about factory look.
