So if I am reading this correctly you sell a harness for the sr5/pro that will have the dimming function work when turning the headlights on even if we don’t have that function available from factory?

Is the harness necessary if I have a 2018 SR5 w/o TRD and want to add the LED's?

Does anyone have a stock vs '18 light output comparison?

There is no comparison! I don't have any pics, but my spyder headlights with 35w hid was leaps and bounds better than stock halogen, the 18 LED is about the same as my spyders were.

@iHacker 's harness is top notch, shipped fast, and a good price. Zero regrets from me and I'd never hesitate to buy from him again.

Ok, I'm about to finally install the LED headlights and fogs with the harness, do I need to take this whole panel off in the cab or not, sorry for dumb question! This was a pic I took from an online headlight install!

I received the harness and it looks amazing!!! Very well put together and love the labeling of each plug. One question though is after going over the instructions I just wanted to make sure that the purple wire that is on each side of the harness is not there. Is that for the 1794/platinums? Or is the harness different from your original harness? Thank you in advance and I’m just waiting on my headlights and the Morimoto motocontroll.

First and foremost, I have to give a huge thanks you to iHacker,

I bought the wiring harness for the 2018 OEM LED headlights from iHacker and in my many years of doing business I have yet to get the professional, kind and complete top notch service from anyone period as I did from him!

This is how it was about to go down, and what he prevented!

I went into this not knowing anything in wiring and I spent the best of a day and a half between this, the trd pro grill and the fogs. I came into a few problems and whether it was late at night or early morning he answered my texts, PM's and any questions I had! He spent his time going through every detail bit by bit, walked me through everything! WOW, what a hell of a guy and big props to him!

I would recommend him without question, not many people like that nowadays, old school customer friendly guy!

If ever in San Antonio, dinner is on me!
    Thanks again Brother!

I didn't buy your harness, had I noticed it before I would have - build quality looks great on yours!

I did want to pop in and thank you for the detailed instructions on page 1, and for your conversation with other members that had questions. This thread is the reason my own install went so smoothly. In particular I wasn't sure which wire to remove from the turn signal harness on the driver's side (though I had an inclination that was confirmed in this thread) and pictures in your instructions saved me time. Looks like a great product and very good customer service from a guy who's not even a business.

I updated my thread today with a few new pictures and a video to install the LED DRL part of the harness since this is the part causing problems for most of the people doing this Motocontrol and harness in hood is completely plug n play so with the guide is enough to complete this, guys let me be honest I'm not the kind of professional or best person shooting and uploading videos but I did it hopping this give you a better idea for the process, sorry for the crappy quality I did it holding my phone in one hand and using the other hand for the process  I hope this help guys

Excuse my ignorance but I am considering the 18 headlights and your harness. I have a 17 Limited and the amber DRL is on by itself until I turn my headlights on. With 18 headlights what happens so to speak? Do you have a LED DRL and the LED headlights, what about the amber light in the center what does it do? Is it on in conjunction with the LED DRL and goes off once headlights come on?

not the OP, but I think I can answer. On page 1 there is a tutorial of the install. iHacker mentions if you leave the gray wire intact, the orange DRL will stay on along with the white LEDs of the '18 headlights. If you remove or cut the gray wire, only the LED portion will be lit. The orange will function only as turn signals

So the amber in the center of the 18 headlights is a turn signal in conjunction with the side marker turn signals?

It functions the same way the amber works on your '17. Either as a DRL and turn signal, or as just a turn signal if you clip the gray wire.

So you have LED DRL along with the amber. If clip the grey wire is that the harness that comes on when key is on ACC? I want total factory setup just as though I had an 18.
