Make sure you do not have any recalls regarding the TSS system before you complete this grill conversion. I have had 2 or 3 recalls on this system so far. Some dealerships will not perform this recall work if you come in with a PRO grill and your Tundra is not a PRO model.

I just hate the Chrome. I might just go with the Sport Grille I guess if too many issues . The sensor will just go in the same location .

@Tchase Do you mind sending a link to the OEM sensor cover you got? Just got the 2019 grill for my 19 Limited and didn’t even realize this was something I had to factor in til I saw the empty space there.

I don't have the link to the sensor cover, but I remember seeing that it was quite expensive, like close to $300. What a joke.

Yep that is why I tried the ebay one for 60 bucks but it was inconsistent. I did find a dealer that was under 300 but not much $276.77 and I've not gotten any errors since

I't too bad there is so much dis-information out there to contend with.

I have a 2109 Limited Tundra TRD. Too much chrome on the front, so I ordered a color-match 2017 TRD PRO Grill and surround, and a JoMax Bracket to relocate the sensor. Easy install several hundred miles ago with ZERO issues. I had also added Bilstein 6112's up front set at 1.3". Don't care for the look of the 2019+ Pro Grill, to me the older one looks much better. Easy to do conversion and everything works just fine. I'll get a pic, but the truck looks much better.

Did the same on my Platinum. Didn’t have a lot of chrome, but that older TRD grill is sweet.

I will chime in that I have a 2019 SR5 DC SX package. The day I bought my truck I ordered the 2017 grille and the cheaper 3D printed bracket. I have had my TSS turn off temporarily during heavy rain but it comes back on 5 min later. I have had 2 people cut me off since I installed it and the collision detection worked flawlessly.

I just did the conversion from limited to trd pro grill and my radar cruise control is not working. I did buy the ebay sensor cover for 58.00. not sure this is the problem. any suggestions would be appreciated. I plan on taking off the cover and see what happens.

read up on this thread, I’m pretty sure I’ve stated twice the eBay cover will not work. Also make sure you have both ends of the harness attached. At the sensor and the harness attach at the access panel on the grill. I forgot when I did it.

and again YMMV on the eBay sensor mine worked but it would occasionally error. Swallow the pill and buy the oem.

I just ordered the 2018+ Pro Grill and come to find out I need a new emblem for it to work after everything was apart.
An extra close to $300.00 for deleting chrome. I am returning Grill and getting a refund minus shipping.

I asked the seller if everything would work and they stated no extra parts needed. A little disappointed.

On the newer models the sensor is behind the emblem, when switching grilles the emblem dosen't transfer to the color matched grill.
New emblem is close to 300 bux

USB ports! So sad I’m saying this for an over $50k truck.
Using this link for part numbers. https://www.tundras.com/threads/ultimate-oem-toyota-parts-thread.10707/

Just did the mod on my 2019 Tundra TRD Sport to the TRD Pro grill. EBAY covers won’t work. Had to purchase the 2019 TRD pro grill 040 white and the OEM TRD PRO sensor COVER. No recalibration needed. It worked perfectly and is literally only 4 bolts and 2 plastic clips for the grill and 1 Philips for the sensor. YOU WILL need (2) 1 time use washers that lock the sensor COVER in place. The sensor will be salvageable and is a direct fitment on the inside part of the TRD PRO grill. Try to carefully remove the cable clamps and they will also be salvageable. If you can’t find the clip for the looped cable on TRD Pro grill it’s on the letter “T” behind the grill. Coworkers (I’m sales) at the dealership told me I would need to recalibrate it but everything works just fine, cruise control slows down and I get the beeps on the PCS if I’m about to crash. And yes it’s pricey but link above I noticed is as cheap is at gets vs. Your local dealer.

Same here, though it's only been a few weeks. Ares garnish works great, and can't beat the price.

I installed it yesterday evening, tested it once with my wife’s car in front and accidentally today before getting on the hwy. so far so good. I wouldn’t recommend testing it at all but I have confidence in Toyota’s brake assist. I’m sure every install is different and would recommend at least getting inspected by your local dealer after install (disclaimer).
