    Howdy,

Moved to Texas from AZ and need to mount a front plate. I tossed out a piece of plastic that I now imagine was some sort of frame.....

What's the best solution? Just drill and mount on bumper?

    Thanks!

    Trav

    Alot of them
Just get a new one from the dealer or Amazon. They are pretty cheap.

You can probably find a take-off from someone on eBay or checking the Marketplace. I am in AZ and never mounted mine, so ended up sending it to another member on here that was in a similar situation to yours. You can also check with a local dealership and see if they can hook you up, but I doubt that will happen...

I find it sort of amazing those two screws drilled poorly into plastic have not fully fallen off yet.

I'm waiting for the day I don't back into the garage far enough and the garage door just shears that piddly little plate mount right off the bumper.

Mounted a fr plate for the 1st time yesterday and thought "what the?" when I saw how pathetically the plate holder was attached.
I envision the day it flies off, it will manage to scratch the hood before cracking the windshield.

Just do like a lot of people in Texas do and put it on your dash. A lot of states have gotten rid of front plates for cost savings reasons. I wish Texas would. From what I have read LEOs are not suppose to use the lack of a front plate to pull you over. The problem is we have a lot of small town redneck LEOs that are just looking for a reason so they can pad their bank accounts.
