So for the first time the other day I got a message on my dash that the front camera can not be accessed... can a front camera be installed?

Was it the message that says "Front camera unavailable, clear debris from windshield"? Frost/snow on your windshield can cause this. Then the PCS goes offline.

Does anyone have this front camera frac harness or a different variation on a 2012 tundra? I have the display in the rearview mirror currently for the reverse cam... Wanting to add an anytime front camera to also display on mirror.
Thoughts or ideas are always welcome. Thanks

I have an aftermarket front camera installed on my 2019. However, I did change out my head unit to a Panasonic with Apple Car Play and Android Play and it also has a plug and play front camera option.

The front camera message is weird since that is not factory. Do you have a 2018 or 2019? They both have forward cameras above the rear view mirror that may have malfunctioned from being dirty, etc..

I used this one from the FRAC harness thread and made a bracket to mount it below the emblem on the grille of my 19. I put the camera in today and hope to find some time this weekend to finish hooking up the FRAC harness in the dash.

Everything I have looked at for front camera install has been for '14+ tundras. Is there additional harnesses or write configurations needed for 2012?

I like the location better than the front window but I'd hate to lose the video footage if I'm hit in the front. The camera, and it's data, is probably safer in the cab

When you say “plug and play” you mean when you hooked it up to the aftermarket you only hooked up RCA and the cam+/- wires? Not the extra “trigger wire”?

I’ve gotten this message a handful of times. I assumed it had something to do with the dynamic cruise control or PCS.

My head unit has an actual input output for rear and front cameras that you plug directly into and its finished. If you use a non Panasonic camera, I am sure there is some additional wiring involved but I am not sure because I used a Panasonic made to go with my head unit.
