Well, hit a deer this morning and tore up the passenger front end up pretty good. Doesn't look like any mechanicl damage but the bumper end is 1/2" from the tire. Are there any sensors in the bumper that would prevent me from pulling it back off the tire to drive it. Will be a few days before I can get it into a body shop and then awhile before parts are ordered and fixing begins. Can't sit here with a hurt truck. Old school I would take a sledgehammer and beat on it, but, with all the airbags, I dang sure don't want to set them off. I should be able to disconnect the negative battery cable and pry it forward. It doesn't rub going forward but in reverse I hear a lot of rubbing and not going to tear up a tire.

    Any recommendations would be helpful

Sorry 'bout the damage. There aren't any sensors to worry about in the end cap.

Well, warm enough now outside to disconnect the neg cable and try to pry out on the bumper end. Since one has to be replaced and the front quarter more than likely, I may pay the extra and have them color match the end caps. Front end being tore apart should help cover $$$$. This SUX

Hook up a tow chain to that end and pull it with your truck or another truck. DOT highway helper up here pulled mine out so I could get my truck home. Good luck. D

My 07 had a similar "mishap" on the drivers side. Pulled up to a tree and strapped a Come Along to it and pulled the bumper out.

Well, got the bumper end pulled back about two inches from the tire. but there is also a dent in the quarter panel, fog light destroyed, all the plastic fender well parts messed up and some of the thinner cross member bent, and lower plastic cover that goes between the bumper ends destroyed.

But, neighbor had a idea, fender flares would cover the dent in the quarter panel after a little work with a body hammer, cross members could be straightened out, plastic pieces replaced and a aftermarket bumper purchased and replace the damaged parts. I am pretty mechanically inclined, so I could save $$$ by doing the mods myself, and the insurance deductible is only 250$. So I may price out aftermarket parts and see what the insurance adjuster comes up with. will post pics in a few minutes

First cut off back straps and cut them into 2" thick pieces. Then wrap in bacon and toss on grill. Mashed taters and Asparagas will pair nicely along with your favorite cold beverage.

The rest, grind up for breakfast sausage.

If I could have found it. Was a pretty solid hit, so would expect a lot of the meat would be tainted with internal organs stuff.

    Too many…scratch that…not done yet.
All depends on how much time and diy effort you want to put into it.
So long as the metal of the end cap it is not broke, you can get a dead-blow hammer and fix the edges/tabs so the alignment is back true.
as far as the front black bumper piece; you can fix that plastic with a soldering iron and some metal screening/mesh.
In your last pic, I can see where the plastic mounts (that hold the square-bottom bolts for securing to the end caps) broke off. I broke those accidently on mine when trying to disassemble my bumper. The only way to get to these is to disassemble the whole bumper. I was able to repair them and reattach them with the soldering iron and metal mesh. Here's a couple vids on the parts I referenced and how to fix the plastic.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1ZIdvsBMvo

Go to 1:10 to see the end cap mounting points, and 3:20 to see the black plastic mounting points. What you see at 3:20 is exactly what I did to mine.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z29LRvbF7Kc

Of course, all said, you can just buy a new end cap and front plastic piece and call it a day.

Well, how many deer do you have to hit before they get out of your way. Just had another run into the pass side of my truck. Two in less than a year. What the hell. Never even claimed the first one. Just replaced with a aftermarket bumper and all good. Now a lot of body work that I can't do. been driving for 34+ years and never hit one till this year and now two. Pic's tomorrow.

If anyone needs some front bumper parts let me know. Stacked in the shed of shame.
