Frame end cap strength? or I just installed a Chassis Unlimited winch bumper and have questions...

FWIW I have personally welded a frame horn back on (on a taco) I wouldn't winch hard often with only those bolts either side. C4 uses the lower tow points as well (on the tundra) and I know the Demello uses a bracket that wraps the frame horns and catches other holes as well.

Those are not designed for pulling outward IMO. Toyota even uses the tow hooks in a different plane/mount location.

 

Hey! Did you install that bumper? I'm trying to figure out where these last two bolts go. Chassis never responded to me.

Half inch wide and about inch long. Any idea?

 

I'm installing my bumper and have two bolts left with two nuts and four washers. Any idea where these go?

They're half inch wide and about 2 inch long

 

There was some extra bolts i didn’t use i believe they were extra 2. Those could be them.

Finally got done with bumper, lights, and winch

 

I’m getting a custom winch bumper made locally right now and it looks like my guy gets to the tow hook mounts too. Also like he builds from the winch out.love this angle

I like it alot. I've gone out on trails and it's handled well. It had high clearance which came in handy. I also "tested" it in a ditch I didn't see and it took it like a champ. I would wire the lights and winch before putting the bumper on. Definitely need a friend or two to help lift it while you bolt it on. It has a hidden winch area so you will need to get under the bumper to get to the clutch and power buttons. I was able to bend over without having to lay in the dirt.
