I've been re-reading this post, the diagrams, and the YouTube videos. Seems straight forward, but you never know until you get in there, lol

I installed the EVO ONE on my 2018 Tundra. It works great now, but I had some initial problems with the configuration. Initially I set up the truck to start after pressing lock 3x on the OEM key/remote. Occasionally the alarm would sound when I tried to remote start it, but this only happened if the truck sat for an hour or more. I got around the problem by changing the remote start sequence to use the “Lock-Unlock-Lock” sequence instead. Since making this change all is well.

When I walk up to my warm truck, I press the unlock button once for just the driver’s door and twice to unlock all doors.

I’d like to know if I purchase the optional antenna, will this increase the range of my OEM remote? (This was the case on my 2012 with an “Arctic Start” brand starter using the OEM fob.). Can anyone provide confirmation?

Installed mine today. Took a little over 2 hours. Fighting the cold, 10 degrees below 0 with wind chill. Soo cold my zip ties kept breaking when I tightened them. Hardest part was getting the programming done, cold hands trying to hold that little button and plug that huge harness it. 3 tries and works perfect! Thanks @BlueBottle for the help and this post!

I installed mine today...engine turns on but then turns off about 3 seconds when after it first initiates. Then it tries to start itself again and then just turns over and won't start. I had a buddy help me with this process and he has done wiring for his job and we both confirmed all the taps and connections. Has anyone had this issue? I do want to note we did not program it correctly the first time but did the 2nd & 3rd time, or at least all the lights properly light up etc. Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

Did you use the same wires that @BlueBottle shows at the beginning? His was diferent by 1 wire, and i didnt need the extra 1 my diagram showed. The programming took me a few times too.

I went through the posts and did not find what you were talking about. Do you have a specific # to refer to? I forgot that when we were installing it we actually did not have one wire connected originally, maybe that was the wire you are talking about. My install instructions have one extra wire than @BlueBottle. http://cdn.fortin.ca/download/26681/evo-one_ig_thr_bi_toy2_tundra_2010-2015_gkey_c_26681.pdf. It is the Key sense on the left on my instructions. Thanks for the help.

Yes, that key sense wire wasn't needed. Glad I asked him or I would've hooked it up.

9 wires plus a ground hooked up. I de-pinned the plugs like the video also.

Sounds like it didn’t progrAm the key encoder properly. I would verify the program is correct. Also you can troubleshoot the unit when it’s starting by looking at the leds on the unit. I’m sure there is a troubleshooting guide for those leds somewhere out there.

That is what I thought. They did not look normal after the truck tried initiating the remote stater. I will look it up and let you guys know! Currently watching football so might not be until tomorrow at lunch. Thanks!

I’m planning to install tomorrow. So the key sense wire isn’t needed at all? What about with factory alarm? Read somewhere that it was needed with alarm.

I hooked up the key sense wire. I also have factory alarm. Im not sure why it should or shouldn't be hooked up but I just followed the instructions as is. And everything works how it should. Hope that helps.

I couldn't tell you with the factory alarm. Mine was just keyless entry. They told me to look at the hood latch behind the grille, if there's a wire harness attached to it, it's not needed. Hopefully someone else knows about the factory alarm.

Thanks, I’ll just hook it up then. What’s one more connection.

I never did find the correct wire so I didn’t hook it up. I had a pale green wire in the pin where it was supposed to connect to a gray wire. Everything seems to work just fine though.

Don’t believe that key sense wire is needed anyway.

Key sense has something to do with the factory alarm, but no one seems to know exactly what. My truck has factory alarm(or I turned it on in techstream anyway), and I didn’t hook it up and everything works perfectly.

    That's frustrating to hear.

Anyways I have seemed to fix my truck. I went through the troubleshooting on their website and followed the instructions but nothing worked. Looked at the Q&A forum portion and here is a post where they said to completely take out the connector for the SIL Data and try remote starting it as a test. And if the truck works then that is the issue. Tried it, trucks works great. A couple hours wasted but I will check back in a week or two if I have any issues down the road. http://fortin.ca/en/qa/79713/2012-tundra-will-not-start-just-continuously-cranks-over

Update: I previously had the entire TPMS unplugged. I undid the wire that was cut into it (posi-tap) and plugged the whole system back in. Tired to remote start and the engine just cranked. Is it not a good idea to keep that entire connection unclipped for my remote to start? I understand it is the Tire Pressure Monitoring System. Maybe I should try it without the blue wire in...be back in 5.

Great you figures it out. And thanks for sharing your findings. So the connection you made to the sil wire wasn’t good?
