I think you need to find better folk to talk to. Not worth bragging about unless it's at least Bimmer or Benz level.

    Lol, I kid.

Didn’t want to start a new thread, but saw this at my local Lowes today. Typical Ford.

Just please remember, it's not always the Engineers' fault. It was a SAD day in 2014 when we had to take our "Made in U.S.A." stickers off the line because our product exceeded the percentage allowed to keep the sticker. Back then it was about the bottom line and ruled by the bean counters.
Today, we are having issues getting product in from over-seas suppliers. My company has a month's worth of back-orders which was unheard of before Covid. This has prompted us to begin the "re-shoring" of many important items back to the U.S.A. I asked the CEO myself if we would be able to put the "U.S.A." stickers back on and he said that was the goal. I was as guilty as anybody buying cheap junk from China on eBay, but not anymore. It might take the better part of a decade, but we can get the American quality back if we are willing to pay for it. All that being said, my daily driver is a 1989 4Runner. I trust it to get me where I need to go more than anything from Ford regardless of year.

That’s a really great, non-political way to voice support for a return to domestic manufacturing of many crucial items across multiple industries. I fully agree, and I have stopped as well. That is a killer 4Runner!

We just recently sold 2 Fords; 2018 3.5L Explorer, and a 2016 3.5L TT Taurus SHO. Corporate politics aside, we had a mixed bag of issues. The SHO was great, will go down as one of my favorite cars to drive. 365hp of AWD family fun. Was sporty when it needed to be, drove like a Grand Tourer the rest of the time. Not a hint of issues. The explorer had 3 minor recalls (roof rack, rear control arm, electronic issue), one headlight that went out ($1,700 LED unit), 2 wheel bearing replacements (one at 30k, one at 52k).

We sold both not because of issues (although two wheel bearings in 50k on a completely stock vehicle is unacceptable), but to take profits on cars we bought 2-3 years ago and put ~60k combined miles on them. All that being said, I wouldn't buy a new F150 based on all of the insanely expensive tech that's in vehicles now, and thats not just on Ford obviously.

Reminds me of a buddy. His dream car was an Olds Tornado. When he got out of college and started making some money he bought one. I tried to talk him out of it. I told him to save money for a new tranny at 30k. The first time we had snow/ice he called me and said that one downside is he had to do donuts in reverse.

I saw a program on the "history of trucks" and they claimed this is how someone came up with the idea of 4x4. Guys would go off roading with RWD trucks and would try reverse if they couldn't make it through forwards.

I have owned and driven many a front drive sedan. I can confirm this is indeed how donuts are performed in the snow.

Never tried it with a tranny dropper I guess...or in deep sand... 4x4 is good for that
