Yep.thank Sig Sauer for that one, If i had chosen my 1911, it more than likely wouldn't have happened, due to the Alienware holster being made differently...Thats like saying, "Well what if I had turned right instead of left", oh well whats done is done.

Pffftt! I live in San Diego, CA...

I'd be happy to be able to have that scratch on my truck!

Seriously though, that kinda sucks, sorry OP. Buff it out.

I live in NY and I'm only allowed to carry a plastic rape whistle. But it can't be too loud, because it could hurt your attacker's ears and they can sue you.
Anyway, no worries of scratching the truck with it.

Thankfully I have yet to do that with any of my pocket knives, let alone my Microtech. I started carrying AIWB last June, wish I had done it sooner, much more comfortable. Matter of fact I just got back to NC from a 2-week cross-country trip and I carried that way the entire time, easy access and not a problem!

It could always be worse, I know a guy who dropped his ccw gun down into a port-a-potty! I think I would be tempted to report it missing or stolen and leave it. I don't know if there would be enough cleaning to ever make me not feel strange about the pistol after that. Retention holsters are a thing!

I've been lucky, I guess. No such incidents.

I have scratched my Tundra with the metal button for the back pocket on a pair shorts.

My kids have caught the side with bikes and scooters. So far, there have been a couple I couldn't buff out completely.

It's just life - impossible to keep vehicles scratch free forever.

In a way, I was kinda glad my "new" Tundra I just got ('19 CPO w/20K miles) already had a couple scratches on it... Saves me the inevitable anguish.

First ding in a new surfboard is always a tough one too.

I am reminded of the old story about the farmer that purchased a brand-new truck. Before he even drove it off the lot he took a 2x4 out of his old truck and gave the new truck a good whack. The salesman looked shocked and asked the farmer why he did that. The old farmer just said, "It is going to eventually get scratched or damaged so I might as well be the first one to do it".

That's funny, 'cuz I've actually thought about doing that to my surfboard. Ding it, fix it, go on about your business.

My leather holster fully covers my wheel gun and the grip is rubber. So far so good on no scratches.

Never been worried about my holster, but definitely worried about the knife clip. I discovered a ring scrap by one one my door handles. Assuming it was my wife or my kids girlfriend.

not to detract from the paint scratches, I remember in my 2008 Tundra being able to wear 'blingy??' jeans in the day, you know Rock Revival, Affliction, I guess blingy is not the word, more like overly large structural metal - yeah that sounds more - er - manly. Never had a problem. My wife's old Maxima with this fake leather mess, scratched the material! SO give up the bedazzlers! LMAO

The sherriff. :( I think San Diego is one of the hardest counties in CA to get one.

Damn, i figured if LA county is giving them out that any place in CA would be easier. Even now that you dont have to have the good cause statement?

Actually haven't tried, I had just heard it was still a "May Issue" county but not many actually being granted.

But if L.A. is actively issuing it'd be worth another look. L.A. was the other really stingy county like SD

I think it would be worth looking into. It might cost you a little to submit the application, but if they actually approve it to move forward, then you can pay for the training class.

Shame. If only you had kept it mounted to your roof with a 1 million lb strength magnet you wouldn't of had these issues. Plus you'd be the quickest draw in the west.
