I can't make my damn mind up, ok all i want is a great performing suspension on and off road. I was set on kings all round no adjusters, then I was looking at fox 2.5 IFP up front with 2.0 with resi in the back, then I was thinking of going cheap and either get the fox 2.0's all 4 corners with uca under $1000 or 6112'2/5160. Im stationed at fort irwin california and I love to go fast out here in this shitty desert, please help!. Post up some honest reviews, Kings are expensive but cheaper than foxes if your comparing 2.5's with resi's.

Plenty planned thanks to all of you.
I'm struggling with a similar issue. Our uses are different but I get the struggle. I'm battling between 6112's up front and 5100 in the rear with Toytec or CoachBuilder shackles or just go with 5100's on all four corners. I also don't plan to off road more than 10% of the time and will pull our tt another 10% of the time. That said I still want an aggressive and capable truck.

Too many options make decisions tough.

Commenting to receive the wisdom of the crowd.

    Thanks for your service!

on a budget go Toytec Boss or bilstein. If you got the $$, go Kings or Fox 2.5.
or ADS 3.0 /Icon 3.0 if you have deep pockets.

Since you said that you like to go fast in the desert, go with Kings (2.5 with res). Do not go with 2.0's. Their rear shocks, for instance has only 9.1 inches of travel (For comparison, the factory TRD shocks have 9.47, Bilstein 5100 has 9.5, OME rear shocks have 10.45).

    What he said..

I have 6112 and 5100 with toytec with 285 18's I live in Texas. We may not have mountains but we have Potholes that feels like Grand Canyon. I AMSOLUTLEY love the setup. great for light off roading, campling, and excursions. One thing I notices though is Toytec shackles, as beefly as they are, when you go over big bumps it does make some noise. like mettle clacking against a metal. I think Coach Builder shackles have better bushings to absorb that better. Anyway Unless you plan to lift 3"+ I highly recommend this setup. It's cheaper than most and performs very well. Trust me I was in the same boat trying to figure out what setup I wanted. I spend good few months calculating price, setup, etc..

The struggle is real! Too many options and variations to decide on, I bought upper control arms months ago but still haven't pulled the trigger on the actual suspension!

If your shackles are making metal on metal sounds, there's definitely something wrong. I have toytec shackles, no noise whatsoever.

I have the Toytec Boss 2.0s on now and love them. 700lb springs on the front without added weight. Should have gone 650 but they still ride very nice. Decieded to go to the next level and will be installing the Toytec/Radflo 2.5s soon. I have heard from some that have installed that they ride amazing.

DUDE! Just go with your best choice and within your budget. Because I guarantee you that once you get whatever it is you end up getting and installed for a while, you'll strat thinking of your next upgrade and you'll forget all about your suspension. Yes. This is like our of Cocain like ranch dressing is my kids heroin. so make it like Nike and "Just Do It"!

    Here's what you do...

    1. grab a piece of paper
    2. write each part on that piece of paper
    3. tear that piece of paper into equal parts, with the shocks on each
    4. place paper on dart board
    5. throw one dart at the board
    6. what it lands on is what you buy.
    7. If for some reason you aren't able to hit the board with a dart... BUY A PRIUS BECAUSE YOU DONT DESERVE DESERT SHOCKS!!

Sounds like a plan except turn the paper backwards and spin around in a circle 10 times so you aren't specifically aiming at one of them.

also Toytec BOSS will perform very well off road but since you like to go fast, like me, in the desert washes..go 2.5 and aftermarket UCAs like Total Chaos. Also there is ICON brand you can check.

Hey brother, I'm stationed in the desert as well. If I had the $, then Kings for sure. I went with the 6112/5160 combo and they've been awesome. Really good for on/off road performance

Likewise w bluefalcon, I'm in the desert and the 6112/5160 combo is great. Didn't break the bank either.
The bilstein's are rebuildable, but you gotta send them back to bilstein. Not sure on cost for rebuild. I kept my stock TRD suspension on a shelf just in case I have to get the 6112/5160's rebuilt.

AH HAH.. that's a good idea. Probably a good thing for someone who did an upgrade to buy a stock set for the shelf as some good insurance.

Mines on my shelf as well. I have a document at home with the PDF on costs for rebuilds. I'll dig it up when I get home.

That'd be good info. I'm looking into fox's but I'm also wanting a 6inch lift. Just not sure how to Frankenstein everything together so I don't have to go with the shocks that come with the lift. Rebuildable sounds better than tossing them and getting new ones. Have yall ever had to rebuild them?

Nope. They only have 5k on them though. I have no idea on the 6 inch lift though. I didn't want mine lifted. Only leveled for bigger tires in the future.

I've got a 2.5 inch sus lift but i don't like that the front is like 3-4 inches lower than the rear. wanted to upgrade the suspension and add a deaver leaf pack and get a little stretch out of it.
