For an FFV, would original TRD SC be better than Magnuson?

Here and elsewhere I'd read there was some quirks/differences between the TRD reflash/tune w/ unichip for FFV and the magnuson non TRD w/ Unichip? Someone also said Magnuson was coming out with some other tuning options? It was like in the same paragraph so unclear if thats new tune option in general, or one specified to FFV. Is Magnuson responsive if I were to just ask them if they are working on other options for FFV folk?

Got a pretty sweet "Predator" sticker on my back glass. Truxedo tonneau. AVS in-channel wind deflectors.
I thought TRD S/C weren't compatible with FFV... :notsure:

Some Mods :) See build thread for details
They are compatible. Toyota just doesn't have a flash for it and won't warranty a ffv. There is a flash available with a unichip.

Can't help with which is better. Don't know anything about Magnuson.

Trd superchargers are magnuson superchargers. That's who makes them. Right now they don't have a tune for them, but are supposedly working on it. Not sure about ffv tune though.

The other thing in the works, edelbrock is coming out with a charger for our trucks and bullydog is writing the tune for it.

Right, I'm aware same mfg, But wasn't sure how else to refer to them being from toyota vs not. I thought there was some tiny minor tune differences or some such because they were saying the straight magnuson ones were rated 5 hp lower.

Any clue if edelbrock would come in cheaper since these non trd mags are actually pricier? Other forum sounds like it likes bullydog, but I hadn't really seen that much to make it seem wholly better than unichip, esp since unichip can be dyno tuned? (Thought bully was more straight canned tunes.)
