I guess I follow this thread so someone who had tried it could tell us what happened... no one yet.

So I tried the fog light mod with the wires behind the side panel and it works. I do have an issue with it because my fog lights somehow come on by themselves hours after I've turned my truck off. Has this happened to anyone else? I just had to jump start my truck because the lights were on for an undetermined amount of time. Any help would be appreciated.

Reviving this thread. Seems a bent relay pin in the engine compartment is far more elegant than depinning, heat shrinking and jumpering small wires under the dash.

Saw your post on the other fog light mod thread, did you ever figure out which PDF to follow? The title on PDF is for early model Tundras (2008-2009?)

I have a 2016 and I just did the one that says "design by eddie". Works perfectly! Careful as they are some thin wires. Why is this not a stock function....

You can Google it, I saw it on a youtube video. Also check out Bluebottles build, look at post 374, it shows the two wires at the two locations that need to get cut, and add jumper.

I have looked at the post where you cut and add a jumper but I don't end to do any of that.. I hope this will work for the 14 and up.

I understand that it is for a 2nd.. I am seeing it anyone was able to get this to work on a 3rd gen. All the anytime fog mods i have seen you have to tear apart under the dash and cut and spice or pull wires out of pins and run jumpers.

Only problem with the relay mod is that u cant controll fog lights anymore. They will be on everytime u turn on the truck. Of ur fine with that, then ur good to go.

Can someone post a schematic of the fog circuit? I still believe there should be a way to get this 'Tacoma' mod to work in a similar way on a Tundra. I found a schematic for an '07, but nothing newer.

I confirmed it works bottom left prong on the fog light relay bend it attach a spade and run it to a good ground source. Fog lights come on with parking lights and headlights as well as the brights. You just loose the fog light switch. Everything turns on automotcilly with parking lights or headlights. Which is fine because I always have fog lights on.m
If you want to turn the fogs off at all you would have to turn all lights off or run the ground wire to a separate aftermarket switch.

How about a pic of the relay to see exactly which prong.

Edit: never mind, I watched the video and saw how the tabs were laid out.

When you pull the relay it’s the bottom left prong. When you plug it back in your wire should be coming out the right side. I can take some pics if you guys want.

I may do a quick write up on it to

    Looking at the fuse box
    7EBC91EB-EB82-47CE-9A29-56A5BFB4B3AC.jpg
    Locate the foglight relay
    41D3A15F-5CA6-46EE-9E51-6B963424FE3A.jpg
Pull the relay and looking at it from this angle the bottom left prong is the one u want bend it slowly with pliers to a 90 deg and connect a female spade to it with about 12in a wire.
    5739B7E9-EF11-413D-BC48-8214465097FE.jpg
Plug your relay back in and run the ground wire to a good grounding point cut the wire to proper length and connect using the proper connector(which I need to add to mine I couldn’t find any in my shop).
    FCBF9A93-0197-4F72-A76E-903E509889A3.jpg
Install your fuse box cap and test your lights. The fogs no longer are controlled by the fog light switch. They will be controlled by your main light switch. Fogs with come on with the parking lights, headlights, and hi beams. Only way to shut them off will be to turn off all lights or wire in an aftermarket toggle/rocker switch.

did you use a rocker / aftermarket switch of the sort, or all controlled by your headlight-stalk?

All controlled by the headlight stalk. The only time I wanted them off was when I had park lights off. The guy in the video used a switch it should be pretty simple. Let us know what u do.
