Howdy all! Followed the Anytime Fog Light Mod 14+ posted here on the site.

The good: Fog lights now stay on with High Beams. Cool...annnnd low beams....cool....annnd parking lights. Cool.

The bad: after the truck had been shut down for roughly 20-30 min? The damn lights come on on their own!! Yep. You read that right.

20-30 min after turning everything off, the truck, sitting perfectly quiet in the driveway lights up like a Christmas tree. I'm monitoring to see if they extinguish on their own as well, but this is rather concerning. Lol

    Any thoughts from the experts??

Of note, if I unlock the truck with the FOB, the lights go out. This was at 2146hrs. Going to see how long it takes for them to come back on

That's what I just did. It's bedtime. So I killed the neg terminal. Deal with it tomorrow. There were no relays to deal with. Just a quick cut and splice. Guess I'll be unsplicing tomorrow. Grrrr

No LEDs. Just the wire mod.

So this morning I went out and reconnected the battery. Started the truck, turned on all the lights for a few minutes then shut everything down. All the lights went out, as advertised.

    A timer was set.

At 21 min, almost to the second, the fog lights came on by themselves.

As soon as I opened the door, the interior lights come on and the fog lights go out.

Asking the experts here: Is there some kind of weird diagnostic process going on here? Why would power be turned on to anything on the vehicle after 21 mins?? Curious. Hmmmm

The EVAP system for emissions turns on and off at a schedule that varies or I can't figure out.

I haven't looked at the mod specifics yet, but I'm assuming the mod involves either ground or 12v signals to the computer. If this is the case, and if cut wires are left open, there may be impedance unbalance triggering the fog light function in the computer.

Did you leave the fog light switch on? You might also try turning off the fog light switch when you park. It's hard to see how the computer would ever turn on the fogs if the switch is off.

Well, in this mod, there are actually 2 wires that are left "open". They both appear to be coming from the connector side of the equation. For the record, the fog light on/off switch on the column does nothing now. Hmmm. I.e., can't turn the fog lights off separately when the headlights are on.

Will have to go back at it tomorrow when I have daylight. Possible I'm not getting a good connection on the splices?
