To prevent or remove? PPF is about all I know that would protect against them. To get them off, bounce sheets and water work better than any product made for bug removal.

You are spot on with the Bounce sheets and water for removal, but what is PPF?

Paint Protection Film. It’s a film that they put over your paint to protect it. Won’t keep the bugs off, but makes them easier to remove and keeps the paint from etching. Pretty much the best kind of paint protection you can get. Super expensive though. Most people only do the front.

Wow, never knew that. Great tip. Does it have to be Bounce or any dryer sheet?

I used the cheapest stuff I could find and it worked great. Just be sure to wash off the residue ASAP

I second the WD-40. Works well and doesn't hurt the paint.

I assume anything works. I’ve used Bounce because we already had it. During the summer she gets mad because I steal them.

I’ve also heard of guys putting the Bounce sheet in the spray bottle with water and just using it that way. I spray water on it, rub the bounce sheets over it, and clean it off. Works like a charm.

:rofl:that's funny, my wife would be mad also.
I remember as a kid playing stickball (NYC) in the streets. If we broke the stick we would cut the broom or the mop head off and use that.

    Great tip.

I just use the bounce sheet while I'm washing the vehicle. I try to wash the vehicle as soon as possible after a road trip when I collect a bunch of bugs.

Wet bounce sheet will take em right off, but you gotta rinse immediately after to get the film off before the sun bakes it on.

I'm spectical on bounce sheets. I would think they scratch your paint with minor swirls. I just got my 19 Cement Gray ceramic coated. I run it through a touch less car wash after I get off the road before I get home. They come right off. Love the ceramic coat! Best thing to protect the paint.

Custom bug spat pattern hood, grill & bumper. Dead Live Oak leaf collection under hood, cowl and lower fenders. Beach sand custom floor covering.
My thoughts also. Is it the bounce or the sheet that takes the bugs off?
