The Bed Slide and the French Doors on the shell are not really related at all.

You can still use the Slide with your Tailgate and I found mine used for $250 I think.

I lost the Tailgate when I chose the Shell.

That Slide is insanely handy unless you like crawling into the bed every time you need anything that is!
