The day has finally arrived. My King shocks just arrived 20 minutes ago. It's a nice surprise because I had no idea they were on the way. Here they are in all their glory.

I'm dropping my truck off at the shop on Monday. They are going to install the King Shocks on Tuesday. I'm looking forward to it.

Just picked up my truck from the 4X4 Shop. The Kings are very nice. They really look awesome with the Icon Billet UCA's. The truck needs a wash but here are some pic's.

Thanks. I had my gears,LSD and my King Shocks installed at The 4X4 Shop here in Livermore. Joe is the owner and Him and his crew are serious off roaders so they know there business. His prices are the best that I could find anywhere. It's great that his shop is only a few miles from my house. You can check out his Facebook page and he is on Yelp also. They do great work.

Very nice build David! How are you liking the ride with the king shocks? I noticed a big difference in my ride quality after I installed my rear Fox 2.0 reservoir shocks. Have you had any chance to use your LSD yet? It's funny seeing your build because we have done a lot of similar upgrades.

Thanks for the kind words. I really like what you have done to your truck. The ride is way better. With the Pro Comp 7" lift I didn't think that the ride was bad at all but with the Kings replacing that big metal cylinder that was above the shocks which drastically reduces your suspension travel the ride is so much better now. I haven't taken the truck off road yet so I'm real curious to see how all that new suspension travel performs. I still need to get skid plates since the truck has none at all. I need to make some calls and find out what I can use with the lift that I have. The RCI skids are nice. I know I can't use the front skid with this lift but I'm hoping the rest of their skids will fit. I'm hoping to take it off road soon.

I really didn't expect such a drastic difference from the standard pro comps to my rear Fox reservoir shocks but they are night and day. Do you plan on going with aluminum or steel skid plates?

I want to go with aluminum to keep the weight down. It's more expensive but in the long run I think it will be better. I'm not going to be using my truck for rock crawling. RCI doesn't list a 38 Gallon tank aluminum skid, only steel so I need to ask them about that when I call. They have one for the 26 Gal. so I don't see why they don't have it for the 38. Do you have any any skids?

I think RCI has the skid for the 38 gallon tank now. No skids on mine. I didn't do my build for rocks or trail riding. I built it for driving, beach & snow conditions. I have a Jeep Rubicon that I've built for heavy off-road conditions. Nothing wrong with a Tundra for off-road just not what I built mine for.

They have a skid for the 38 but only in steel. When you click on the option button on their website for aluminum skids, only the 26 will appear. I need to ask them about that. Bud Built has aluminum for the 38 but it's double the cost of the RCI. Post a pic of your Jeep some time. Take it easy.

It's still a work in progress. I've already regeared if to 4.56 gears to offset my 35s. I'm going to change out the suspension to a long arm, replace side steps with rock slide engineering power steps, full underside plates & a full coilover suspension.

Otaku4life69, Thanks for the info on the 4x4 Shop. I am going to call in AM and see if he can take in my truck. Gears came today. I have a squeak on the R.F. maybe they can fix while he is in there. I hate BDS!

No problem. They do great work. It's summer time so they are pretty busy. I was lucky to get in quick for my shock install. Let them know that you are serious about getting work done and you heard about them from a fellow forum member. Joe the owner said he took some pics of my Tundra because it looks so bad ass with the Kings and he was going to put it on his face book page. I'm waiting to see them. Good luck!

I talked to RCI and sent them some pics of my undercarriage. Their skids WILL NOT work with the Pro Comp lift:annoyed: The only skid I can use is the Fuel tank skid. It looks like custom fab is my only route.
