First time Tundra owner. 2022 1794. Very frustrated and disappointed with MPG.

Hear ya! Also driving a Gen 2.5 5.7, and my combined mileage for the last month (filled up today--17.76 gallons to 337.6 miles--quarter tank left on the gauge of my 26 gallon tank) was an honest 19.009 mpg. That included 4wd at times, seasonably cold winter temps, and 50/50 driving hwy and town.

Have to wonder if most folks simply can't slow down and drive conservatively anymore.

Mine was trash in the beginning as well. I didn't see good mpg until i hit around 5k. I also noticed a major improvement in mpg when i switched to 93+. Combined that with a JB4 Tuner and PC and now i get a consistent 16.8-17 mpg in town. Haven't done any long hauls on free way yet but i would expect that to climb up to 18.5-20mpg. Not that you should have to buy aftermarket stuff to get what you already paid for but try switching to a full tank of 91+ or 93+ and give that a go.

Fords had similar engines with similar performance for 12 years now. You could have researched how they perform before spending 50k+ on a truck. depending on tires and conditions, 14.3 doesnt seem unrealistic. The small displacement engine is only going to be more efficient under light load, thats the point. It eliminates the pumping losses and insane inefficiency you get with a large displacement V8 when you are only making small amounts of power. Once power usage increases, the big V8 and the small V6 efficiency converges.

When you are down in that 14 mpg range, they will be converging. Why you only get 14.3 is not something I could tell you though.

I’ve got a platinum with the iForce max powertrain. Can’t get over 14 mpg in the thing. I shut that part of the dash off lol. Just enjoy driving the truck as it’s a great platform. The fuel economy is despicable tho lol

I picked up my 2023 iForce max 1794 4wd in mid-December and now have 1200 miles. Truck is bone stock and currently getting 18.4mpg. I have been using eco mode most of the time. I'm about to order the TRD lift and put 34" tires so I suspect it will go down a bit.

When I first got my '22 Pro I was getting 16-18 at best on highway. After a couple thousand miles I was getting 20-24 on the highway(under 65mph). With winter fuel, its back to 18-20 highway and 15-16 at best around town. Toyota TTV6 is just like Fords, you either get eco or boost, not both. If the turbo gauge is showing boost, mileage goes down quickly. If I am accelerating above 2k RPMs the mileage goes way down.

Some trucks are gonna get better than others, sometimes its the truck and sometimes the operator.
