Hey Guys - Thanks for the warm welcome!

Baja asked ma about upgrades - seeing as I drive my truck to and from Colorado every summer, I'll be looking to make this thing primarily dependable and comfortable to sleep in. I fly fish in the summer. A LOT.

The truck spent its early life back east where they salt the roads. I'll have to get under there with a wire brush in June and see if I can't clean up obvious signs of rust. Then I'll be looking for suggestions. First up might be replacing the TRD Bilstein 5100 with a new set. We'll see...we'll see...

Right now, with temperatures from -15ºF to -30ºF, and running around in 4-HI all the time, the 5.7 is JUST A PIG. Driving like a grandmother yields only .5 mpg difference. Yikes.

Very cool! Where in Colorado do you visit? I've been lucky enough to visit Ouray for a week in July in 2016, 2017, and hopefully again here in 2018.

You're right about the 5.7! We average 10.5mpg in the BD Tundra but also occasionally tow an enclosed trailer.

If you're interested in lighting upgrades down the road feel free to PM us or post in the Baja Designs: General Discussion Thread. We've got a variety of vehicle specific kits and are always happy to help fine tune a setup specific to your needs.

    Enjoy the truck!
